In this study, numbers and the courses of the afferent and efferent lymph vessels of the cervical superficial node and popliteal lymph node were investigated in Akkaraman sheep. As a material, eight Akkaraman sheep were used. Four or six afferent lymph vessels enter to the cervical superficial lymph node. The efferent lymph vessels leaving from this node, are three in number and these vessels joined together with each other, forming a single lymph vessel. Efferents on the left side terminate in the external jugular vein. On the right side, the efferents terminate in the right lymph duct. It was seen that 4 or 6 afferent lymph vessels entered to the popliteal node and one efferent leaved from this node. Efferent on the right and left side goes to the medial iliac lymph node.

The dural sinuses of Akkaraman sheep and their connections with veins of the head and neck were studied by macroanatomic observations. Information obtained from gross dissection supports the idea suggesting the cavernous sinus plays a very significant role in the termoregulation of the brain, since it has been a critical anatomical position and connections with the extracranial veins.

Work was undertaken ıo elucidale the macroanalomic details ol the stomaeh of the came!. Filteen adull heaUhy one-humped camels (Camelus dromedarius) were used. The abdominal organs were kepı in situ and their relations LO Ihe slomaeh were examined. The anatomi slructure ol the camel slomaeh was eompared in other ruminants, and the luncUonal slgnificance of the differences is discussed. It was observed that the stomaeh ol ıhe eamel is composed ollour compartments (rumen, reticulum, omasum and abornasum), as in all ruminanls. On the contrary, they diller greally In shape and struclure from the typical design encounlered in the ruminants. It has a capacity of approximately 80 Iilres. Iı extended from the dlaphragm to the pelvie inlet and occupled the major portion of the abdominal cavity. The rumen was divided into a relalively smail cranioventral and a large caudodorsal sacs. The cranleventral sac was composed ol so-called Water sac' or 'glandular sac' and non glandular area. Intemally the glandular sacs consist of smailer compartments divided by strong Iongitudinal bands and most of these compartments are again S\Jb-divided by transverse bands, thus glving them a honey comb appearance. The mucous membrane of the rumen was not studded with papillae. The reticulum is a pear shaped organ and unlike other ruminanl. The mucous membrane of the relicutum formed deep pouches which are separated from each other by muscular bands. Each pouch was again divided and sub-divided to form many layers. The mueous of the pouches are studded with very smail rounded papillae. It was determined that there is a metallic ring one of the eamel reticulum. The omasum was a long colon·shaped organs and very dillereni from the omasum of the other domestic ruminants. The mucous membrane was thrown into about 50-60 longltudinal folds which gives a leafy appearance to this organ. Intemally the abomasum was divided inıo fundie and pyloric parts.

In this study, myocardial bridges in the hearts of various domestic animals were described and classified by means of macroscopical and microscopical observations. In the classification of the bridges, special attention was given to the location, width and thickness of the bridge. In microscopical observations in the bridges were classified by regarding the number of the comminant veins of the overbridged artery. As a material, 15 Akkaraman sheep, Angora goats and cattle, 8 dogs and Water buffalo hearts were used. In all hearts of the various domestic animals species investigated in this study, the myocardial bridges were observed macroscopically on the ramus interventricularis paraçonalis and subsinuosus, on the first grade ramus of a ramus interventricularis and on the second grade ramus of a ramus interventricularis.

In this study, the formation and distribution of the brachial plexus of the dog was investigated. For this purpose, ten dogs, in different ages and sex, were used. The brachial plexus of the dog is formed by the ventral branches of the sixth, seventh, eighth cervical and first, second thoracic nerves. The ventral branch of the second thoracic nerve is relatively small. The nerves arising from the brachial plexus of the dog: Suprascapular nerve is formed by the ventral branches sixth and seventh cervical nerves in dogs. Subscapular nerves usually number two in this study, it is determined that subscapular nerves, only one cases (10 %) are three in number, nine cases are two in number. When two subscapular nerves are present, one of them arises from the ventral branches of the sixth and seventh cervical nerves, the other originates from the ventral branch of the seventh cervical nerve. Musculocutaneus nerve arises from the ventral branches of the seventh cervical nerve, with a delicate branch contribution from the sixth cervical nerve. Axillary nerve takes its origin from the ventral branches of the seventh and eighth cervical nerves. Cranial pectoral nerves are two in number. One of them, at its origin it is associated with the musculocutaneus nerve. Caudal pectoral nerves are two in number. At its origin, they are associated with the lateral thoracic nerve, and arise from the ventral branches of the eighth cervical and first and second thoracic nerves. Lateral thoracic nerve takes its origin from the ventral branches of the cervical and first and second thoracic nerve. Thoracodorsal nerve is formed by the ventral branch of the eighth cervical nerve. Long thoracic nerve originates from the ventral branches of the seventh and eighth cervical nerves. Radial nerve is formed by the ventral branches of the eighth cervical and first and second thoracic nerves. It is the largest nerve of the brachial plexus. Median nerve takes its origin from the ventral branches of the eighth cervical and first and second thoracic nerves. At its origin it forms a single trunk with ulnar nerve. Ulnar nerve takes its origin from the ventral branches of the eighth cervical and first and second thoracic nerves.

    Zeranol'un Merinos Kuzularının Erkek Genital Si?stemleri? Üzeri?ne Etki?leri?
(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 1989 Ocak) Tıpırdamaz, Sadettin; Acet, Ahmet; Erden, Hasan; Kadak, Ramazan
In this study, fourty-five merino lambs were used. These animals were divided into there groups. Twelve mg of Zeranol were implanted subcutaneously to ear of the first and second groups lambs. Fourty days later, the same dose of Zeranol was reimplanted to the second group lambs. The remaining 15 lambs were served as nonimplanted controls. Five lambs belonging to each group were slaughtered at 80, 120 and 160 days after implantation. Before slaughtering the lambs body weight were measured. Then testes, epididymides, vesicular glands and bulbourethral glands were weighted. The testes weights and their ratio to the body weights in the Zeranol implanted groups slaughtered at the 80 th days were significantly lower than the control group. No differences were found in testicular of lambs slaughtered at the 120 th and 160 th days. On the other hand, any significant differences were not observed in the bulbourethral glands, vesicular glands and epididymal weights between the three groups.
