Özet
Hand weaving has been an indispensable part of Turkish culture which came from central Asia origin and experienced nomadic life for a long time. Carpana and Kolon, kinds of weaving, stand as a deep rooted cultural heritage in Central Asia and Anatolia. Hand weaving continues in the villages of Kyrgyzstan today. On the other hand, Carpana and Kolon weaving continue their existences in steppe areas where people still live in tents called bozuy. Carpana and Kolon of Kirghiz are compatible with the patterns of traditional Turkish embroidery, which draws attention. The examples of Carpana and Kolon named such as taor or terme and weaved on looms will be given in the article. Furthermore, the article will mention about the patterns and techniques of Carpana and Kolon.
