Özet
Türk tarihine ve münhasıran Ortaçağ dönemine ait kaynakların neşir ve tercümelerinin önemli bilimsel etkinlik olduklarına kuşku yoktur. Özellikle Selçuklu döneminin kaynakları, Farsça ve ağırlıklı olarak Arapça yazılı haldedir. Bu kaynakların bir kısmı çağdaştır, bir kısmı ise geç dönemde kaleme alınmışlardır. Bunlar arasında önemli sayıda eser, modern tarihçiler ve mütercimler tarafından Türkçeye tercüme edilmiş ve yayımlanmıştır. Bu neşriyat içinde akademik kaygıyla yapılan tercüme örnekleri tarih bilimine katkıda bulunan çalışmalardır. Ancak akademik ve bilimsel olma iddiasıyla hazırlanan bazı tercüme eserlerde ciddi çeviri ve neşriyat problemleri göze çarpmaktadır. Nitekim yanlış ibareler, hatalı yer ve şahıs adları vb. çeviri yanlışları bu tür tercüme kitaplarda rastlanmaktadır. Öyle ki bazı eserler eksik metin olarak tercüme edilmiş ve yayımlanmıştır. Bu münasebetle bu yazıda, böyle tercümelerden biri olan, meşhur müelliflerden İbnü’l-Kalânisi’nin eseri olduğu iddiasıyla Şam Tarihine Zeyl adıyla neşredilen Türkçe çeviri kitabın durumu ele alınarak değerlendirilecek ve tercüme sıhhati bakımından tahlili yapılacaktır.
There is no doubt that the publications and the translations of the sources of the Turkish history and exclusively Medieval period are an important scientific activities. Especially the sources of the Seljukid period are written in Persian and predominantly in Arabic. Some of these sources are contemporary, some of them have been written in the late period. A significant number of these works have been translated into Turkish and published by modern historians and translators. Translated examples with academic anxiety among these publications are the studies that contribute to the art of history. However, some translation works prepared with the claim of being academic and scientific have serious translation and publication problems. As a matter of fact, translation mistakes, wrong phrases, wrong place and personal names etc. are found in some translation books. Some works have been translated and published as missing texts. In this regard, in this article, the status of the Turkish translation book, which was published as Şam Tarihine Zeyl, with the claim that it is belong to the one of the famous authors, Ibn al-Qal?nis?, will be evaluated and analyzed in terms of translation accuracy.
