İnsülin testi yerine geçebilecek en az onun kadar veya daha fazla etkili bir büyüme hormonu uyarı testinin alternatif olarak rutin kullanıma girebileceği konusu araştırıldı. Alternatif test olarak oral klonidin (0.150 mg/msup2/sup) ve arjinin uyarı testleri düşünüldü. Hasta grubu olarak boy persentilleri %'de 3'ün altında, boy standart deviasyon skoru (SDS)'leri -2.00 ile -3.76 arasında bulunan kısa boylu 22 çocuk, çalışmaya alındı. Hastalara uygun zaman aralıklarıyla klonidin, arjinin, L.Dopa ve insülin uyarı testleri yapıldı. Hastalar, anamnez, fizik muayene ve test sonuçlarına göre Konstitusyonel gelişme geriliği (KGG), Familyal boy kısalığı (FBK), Growth Hormon eksikliği (GHE)'i olarak 3 gruba ayrıldı. Testler uygulandıktan sonra, hiçbir Growth Hormon (GH) sınır değeri alınmadan yapılan değerlendirmede 22 hasta içerisinde, en yüksek pik GH seviyeleri açısından 12 GH piki ile klonidin testiyle elde edildi. Bunu sırasıyla 5'er GH pikiyle insulin ve L.Dopa testleri izlemiştir. Arjinin testiyle ise hiç en yüksek GH piki elde edilememiştir. Klonidin testi rutin kullanımda GH uyarı testinin yapılma endikasyonunun olduğu kısa boylu çocuklarda 0.150 mg/m2 oral dozunda daha önceki literatür bilgilerine paralel olarak, yeterli GH rezervini göstermekte, en az insulin testi kadar, hatta ondan daha iyi olarak rahatlıkla ve emniyetle kullanılabilir.
A growth hormone stimulation test which would replace the insulin stimulation test with equal or more activity and if it could be used routinely, was investigated. As alternative tests orally clonidine (0.150 mg/m<sup>2</sup>) and arginine stimulation tests were thought. The patient group consisted of 22 with height brevity and a height percentyl below % 3, and SDS between -2.00 and -3.76. With appropriate time intervals, clonidin, arginin, L.Dopa and insulin stimulation tests were applied to the patients. The patients were divided into 3 group, as KGR, FHB and GHD respectively according to history, physical examination and test results. After applying the tests, without taking a GH limit value and evaluating 22 patients, investigating the highest peak GH levels, 12 GH peak with the clonidin test was detected. This results was followed by insulin and L.Dopa tests each with 5 GH peaks, with arginine stimulation test, the highest GH peak couldn't be reached. The clonidine test could be replace the GH stimulation test in routinely using for height brevity; with a dosage of 0.150 mg/m2 orally. Being in parallel with the previously literature data, in showing the sufficient GH reserve, at least effective as the insulin test, even better and saver, could be used comfortable.
