Cerebellum ve ventral pons volümüne yaş ve cinsiyetin etkisi; prospektif bir MR çalışması

Özet
Manyetik Rezonans Görüntüleme (MRG), yaşlanmanın ve cinsiyetin beyin gelişimi ve yapısı üzerine etkisini araştırmak açısından büyük öneme sahiptir. Yapılan bu çalışmada; cerebellum ve ventral pons hacimleri üzerinde yaş ve cinsiyet farklılıklarını ortaya koymak amaçlandı. Bunun için MRG'den transvers düzlemde 3 adet (üst, orta, alt), frontal düzlemde 3 adet (ön, orta, arka), sagittal düzlemde 3 adet (sağ, orta, sol) olmak üzere toplam 9 adet kesit görüntüsü üzerinde çalışıldı. Afyonkarahisar Devlet Hastanesi görüntüleme merkezine çeşitli nedenlerle başvuran ancak patolojik bulgu gözlenmeyen 100 (43 erkek - 57 kadın) yetişkin bireyin T1 ağırlıklı transvers, frontal ve sagittal MRG alındı. Yaşlanmanın etkisini anlayabilmek için her iki cinsiyet kendi içinde genç (13 erkek ? 10 kadın), orta (12 erkek ? 24 kadın), ileri (18erkek ? 23 kadın) yaş gruplarına ayrıldı. Seçilen görüntüler NETCAD programına aktarılarak cerebellum ve ventral pons oluşumlarının alanları hesaplandı. Elde edilen değerlerden excel programında hacimleri bulundu. Hacimsel ölçümlerin SPSS programında istatiksel analizleri yapıldı. Ventral pons hacimlerinde cinsiyetler arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmadı. Erkeklerin transvers düzlemdeki sağ ve sol hemisfer hacimlerinde, frontal düzlemde sağ-sol hemisfer hacimlerinde anlamlı bir büyüklük tespit edildi. Sagittal düzlemde vermis hacimlerinde ise kadınlarda anlamlı derecede büyük olduğu saptandı. Sağ hemisfer hacimlerinde, frontal düzlem sağ-sol hemisfer hacimlerinde yaşın ilerlemesiyle anlamlı bir azalma görüldü ve bu azalmanın erkeklerde daha fazla olduğu bulundu. Sol hemisfer hacimlerinde ve ventral pons hacimlerinde yaşlanmaya bağlı küçülme gözlenmedi. Vermis hacimlerinde anlamlı küçülme görülmese de erkeklerde daha fazla küçülme olduğu saptandı. Daha önce yapılan çalışmalarla karşılaştırıldığında benzer sonuçlar elde edilmiş olması NETCAD programının MRG den hacim hesaplanmasında kullanılabileceğini göstermektedir.
In the study, it is aimed to find out age and gender differences on cerebellium and ventral pons volumes. It is totally studied on nine cross-section images from MRG; these: three at transvers plane (top, middle, and bottom), three at frontal plane (front, middle, back), and three at sagittal plane (right, middle, left). T1 transvers, frontal and sagittal MRG was taken from 100 adult people (43 men- 57 women), which in not observed pathological symptom, which come to Afyonkarahisar State Hospital Imaging Center with various reasons. The admitted both gender was separated age groups as young (13 men-10 women), average (12 men-24 women) and aged (18 men- 23 women) in order to understand effects of ageing. Areas of cerebellum and ventral pons formation were calculated by transfering choosed images to NETCAD software. The volumes were calculated in Excel program by using the values obtained from MRG and analysed by SPSS. It was not found significant differences between genders in the ventral pons volumes. It was determined a significant size in men?s right and left hemisphere volumes at transvers and frontal planes. It was determined a significant size in women?s vermis volumes at sagittal plane. Also a significant reducing was observed in right hemisphere volumes, in frontal plane right ? left hemisphere volumes owing to ageing and, so it was found that the reducing was much more in men. Becoming smaller was not observed in vermis volumes and vental pons volumes related to ageing. Although significant becoming smaller in vermis volumes, it was determined much more becoming smaller in men. When comparising this results and before studies, similar results were obtained indicated that NETCAD was be able to used in volume calculating with MRG.
