Özet
Muhammed b. Süleyman, Semerkandlı bir emirin oğlu olup 1148 yılında Bağdat?ta doğmuştur. Edebiyat ve şiirin yanı sıra matematik bilimine de ilgi duymuş, edebiyat alanında bir kitap yazmış, ancak günümüze kadar ulaşmamıştır. Abbâsi Halifesi en-Nâsır?ın danışmanlığını yapmış ve Kutalmışoğlu lakabıyla tanınmıştır. Tespitimize göre edebiyatçı ve şair Kutalmışoğlu, Türkler arasında manzum bilmeceyi ilk yazan kişidir. Bilmecenin yanı sıra şiir de yazmıştır. Makalemizde edebiyatçının hayatı hakkında bilgi verilmiş, bilmeceleri ve şiirlerinden örnekler sunulmuştur.
Muhammad b. Suleiman, the son of an emir from Samarkand, was born in Baghdad in 1448. He was interested in mathematics besides literature and poetry. In addition, he wrote a book about literature, but it has not reached to the present day. He worked as a counselor for Abbasid Caliph an-Naser and he was well-known with the name of Kutalmıshoglu. According to our researches, Kutalmıshoglu, being a literati and poet, is the first person to write Arabic verse riddle (lugaz) among the Turkish. He wrote poetry as well as riddle. In the article, it was given information about the literati‟s life, and examples from his riddles and poetries were provided.
