Özet
Beşir Fuad Türk edebiyatı için önemli bir düşünür ve yazardır. Bir aydın olarak çağdaşlarından farklı bir düşünce dünyası vardır. Beşir Fuad’ın çağdaşlarından farklı olan fikir dünyasını oluşturan felsefi ve bilimsel etmenler onun bir akım olarak gerçekçiliği benimsemesinde belirleyici olmuştur. O, kurgusal bir eser kaleme almamıştır. Ancak kuramsal ve biyografik eserleriyle gerçekçiliği tartışmaya açmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Beşir Fuad’ın yazınsal gerçekçiliğe yaklaşımını ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla yazarın makaleleri, mektupları ve Victor Hugo başlıklı biyografik eseri incelenmiştir. Beşir Fuad eserlerinde gerçekçilik akımını savunmuş; bu akımın bilimsel ve felsefi temellerini tanıtmıştır. Romantizm eleştirisi yapmış; yazınsal gerçekçiliğin tarihini ve yöntemini ortaya koymuştur. Sonuç olarak, gerçekçiliğin Türk edebiyatında tanınıp gelişmesine önemli katkılarda bulunmuştur.
Beşir Fuad is an important intellectual and writer in Turkish literature history. He had different intellectual background from his contemporaries. The philosophical and scientific factors that constitute his intellectual background let him to defend realism. Beşir Fuad did not write any fictional work. He wrote theoretical and biographical works. These works are the initiator of realism-romantism d ebates i n T urkish l iterature. T he aim o f this e ssay i s to explore Beşir Fuad’s approaches to literary realism. For this porpuse, the articles and letters of Beşir Fuad and his biographical book named Victor Hugo are examined. Beşir Fuad defended literary realism, introduced the scientific and philosophical background of this movement, criticized romantism and introduced the historical background and methods of realism in his works. As a result, he has made important contributions to the recognition of realism in Turkish literature.
