Selçuk Üniversitesi, Yayımlanmış yüksek lisans tezi, Konya.https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12395/5441Hazırlamış olduğumuz yüksek lisans tez çalışmamızda, Nikomedia Bölgesi içerisinde yer alan Kocaeli merkezde bulunan Bizans dönemi taş eserleri incelenmiştir. Bizans Dönemine ait yerleşim ve yapılarda belgelenmiş olan 127 eseri içermektedir. Merkez içerisinde yer alan Kocaeli Arkeoloji Müzesi, Gültepe Nekropol Sahası ve Türk yapısı olan İzmit Orhan Camii'nde tespit ettiğimiz örnekler değerlendirilmiştir.Katalog içerisinde yer alan 127 mimari plastik parça, mimari ve litürjik eserler olmak üzere iki grupta incelenmiştir. Bu grup içerisine girmeyen taş eserler ise levhalar ve diğer mimari taş eserler içerisinde incelenmiştir. Taş eserler yüzeyindeki bezemeler, Geç Roma- Erken Bizans Dönemi ve Orta Bizans Dönemine özgü süsleme kompozisyonları motif ve üslupsal bakımdan kendi içerisinde ve yakın çevre örnekleri ile karşılaştırılarak, değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır.Sonuç olarak, çalışma konumuzu oluşturan mimari taş eserler, Kocaeli merkez içinde ele alınan Taş eserlerin, Bizans sanatı içerisindeki yeri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Yapmış olduğumuz bu çalışmanın ileride yapılacak yeni araştırmalara yön vermesi dileğiyle.In this master thesis study we prepared, The Byzantine Period Stone Works at the center of Kocaeli located within the region of Nicomedia were examined. This study covers 127 documented settlements and construction works belonging to Byzantine Period. The examples we have identified in the Kocaeli Archaeological Museum, Gultepe Necropolis site and Izmit Orhan Mosque which were located within the center were examined.127 Architectural plastic parts contained in the catalog were studied in two groups as architectural and liturgical works. Stone artifacts that cannot be entered into these groups were examined in other architectural stone artifacts and slabs. The decorations on the surface of the stone works peculiar to Late Roman, Early Byzantine and Middle Byzantine Period decorative compositions in terms of specific to their own stylistic and motif in comparison with the surrounding samples were evaluated.In conclusion, The Architectural Stone Works forming our study subject, Stone works taken up in the center of Kocaeli were studied to determine their place in the Byzantine Art.
