Ehlers-Danlos sendromu (EDS), bağ doku kaynaklı olan ve genellikle otozomal dominant geçişli bir genetik bozukluktur. Genel klinik özellikleri, aşırı deri esnekliği, yara iyileşmesinde gecikme, bağ dokusunda kırılganlıktır. Orofasiyal bölgedeki bulguları ise, diş çekim sonrası yara iyileşmesinde gecikme, temporomandibular bozukluklar, derin damak, dil elastikliğinde artma ve çeşitli dental anomalilerdir. Mukopolisakkaridoz (MPS), mukopolisakkaritlerin katabolizmasında bozukluk sonucu dokularda birikmesi sonucu oluşan bir hastalıktır. Genel özellikleri, zeka geriliği, hiperaktivite, hareket kısıtlılıkları, konuşma-işitme-görme sorunları ve kemik gelişim bozukluklarıdır. Orofasiyal bölgedeki bulguları ise, geniş alın, makroglossi, temporomandibular eklemin kemik komponentlerinde değişiklikler, diş eti büyümeleri ve dişlerde anomalilerdir. Bu raporda, kifoskolyoz tip EDS olan bir hasta ve tip VI MPS sendromu olan iki kardeş hastaya ait klinik ve radyolojik bulgular sunulacaktır. Orofasiyal bölgeyi etkileyen sendromların tanısı multi-disipliner yaklaşımla konur ve tedavisi semptomlara yönelik olarak yapılır. Diş hekimleri bu hastalarla karşılaştığında, gerekli dental tedavilerini yapabilmeli ve ilgili hekimlere hastayı konsülte etmelidirler.There are many syndromes affecting the orofacial region. EhlersDanlos syndrome (EDS) is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder that is caused by connective tissue. General clinical features are excessive skin elasticity, delay in wound healing, fragility of connective tissue. The findings in the orofacial region are the delay in wound healing after tooth extraction, temporomandibular disorders, deep palate, increasing in tongue elasticity and several dental anomalies. Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) is a disease that occurs as a result of the accumulation of mucopolysaccharide catabolism in tissues. General characteristics are mental retardation, hyperactivity, movement limitations, speech-hearing-ocular problems and bone development disorders. The findings in the orofacial region include large forehead, macroglossia, changes in bone components of the temporomandibular joint, gingival hyperplasia and abnormalities in the teeth. In this report, clinical and radiological findings of a patient with kyphoscoliosis type EDS and two brothers with type VI MPS syndrome will be presented. Diagnosis of the syndromes affecting the orofacial region is made with a multidisciplinary approach and treatment is done for the symptoms.
