Bu çalışmada civa zehirlenmesine bağlı nöropatik ağrı gelişen bir çocukta gabapentinin etkinliği değerlendirildi. Tedavi süresince hastanın ağrısı azaldı ve minimal yan etki gözlendi. Çocuk da, nöropatik ağrı tedavisinde gabapentin, etkin analjezi sağlamakta ve oldukça iyi tolere edilmektedir.Gabapentin is used as an analgesic in neuropathic pain. In this report a children with nerophatic pain because of mercury poising was followed-up for pain and side effects with the use of gabapentin. Pain reduction was good throughout the patient treatment. Severe side effects did not occur.
