Araştırma tanımlayıcı türde yapılmıştır. Araştırma evrenini Çumra ilçe merkezinde ikamet eden 196 doğum sonu anne oluşturmuştur. Verilerin toplanmasında bir anket formu ile birlikte Maternal Bağlanma Ölçeği (MAI) ve Edinburgh Doğum Sonu Depresyon Ölçeği (EPDS) kullanılmıştır. Veriler doğum sonu birinci ve dördüncü ayda toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde Non-parametrik testler kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada annelerin yaş ortalamalarının 28,04±5,6; evlilik sürelerinin 7,26±5,46 olduğu, %88,8'inin ev hanımı ve sadece % 18,4'ünün iyi düzeyde gelire sahip olduğunu düşündüğü belirlenmiştir. Doğumdan sonraki birinci ayda yapılan ölçümlerde annelerin % 57,7'sinde postpartum depresyon semptomları gözlenirken, dördüncü ayda % 10,2'ye düştüğü tespit edilmiştir. Annelerin ilk ay EPDS puan ortalamaları 16,77±6,66 ve dördüncü ay puan ortalamaları 4,75±4,09 olarak saptanırken, birinci ay MAI puan ortalamaları 97,10±6,01; dördüncü ay MAI puan ortalamaları ise 87,15±8,55 olarak bulunmuştur. Birinci ay MAI ile EPDS arasında pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki saptanırken(p<0,05), dördüncü ayda bir ilişki olmadığı saptanmıştır (p>0,05). Araştırma sonucuna göre erken postpartum dönemde maternal bağlanma gelişirken, erken postpartum dönemdeki uyum sürecinde depresyon semptomolojisinin de yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak; anne ve baba adaylarının doğum öncesi ve doğum sonrası dönemde oluşabilecek değişikliklere hazırlanarak ve gerekli eğitimler verilerek postpartum depresyon semptomlarının gelişmesi ve maternal bağlanmanın sağlıklı şekilde gerçekleşmesi sağlanabilir.In this study, we aimed to determine the relationship of maternal attachment during first and fourth months of postpartum period on the postpartum depression symptoms. This descriptive study was performed in Cumra town center, Konya between (15 May ? 30 October 2009). Of the inhabitants in Cumra, one hundred ninetysix (196) mothers who were in postpartum period were included. Data about the mothers were obtained by applying questionnaires and Maternal Attachment Inventory (MAI) and Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS) at the first month, the fourth month of postpartum period. Data analysis were done by using non-parametric tests. In our study, the average of mean age was 28,04±5,6 (min 17-max 44), mean duration of marriage 7,26±5,46 (min 1- max 25). Of the mothers, 88,8% were housewives and 18,4% had good financial situation. During postpartum the first month and the fourth month evaluations, postpartum depression symptoms were determined 57,7% and 10,2%, respectively. The average of mean EPDS values 16,77±6,66 at the first month and 4,75±4,09 at the fourth month evaluation of postpartum period. However, the average of mean MAI values 16,77±6,66 at the first month and 4,75±4,09 at the fourth month of postpartum period. There was a correlation between MAI and EPDS values at the first month evaluation (p<0,05) but no correlation between MAI and EPDS values at the fourth month evaluation were seen. In our study, there was a maternal binding during early postpartum period and there were also high rates of post partum depression symptoms during early postpartum period were determined.
