Öncelikle "Meydan", "Yaya Bölgeleri" kavramları irdelenerek yayalaştırmanın kentler ve kent merkezleri için gerekliliği ve önemi vurgulanmış; kentsel tasarım ve yayalaştırma üzerine genel ilkeler saptanmış; uygulama aşamasında karşılaşılan sorunlar ele alınmıştır. Zafer meydanında uygulanmış yaya alanının olumlu ve olumsuz özellikleri incelenerek, yapılan anket çalışmaları doğrultusunda, çıkan sonuçlara ve arazi çalışmasına göre yorumlanmıştır.This thesis aims to study the pedestrianization of Zafer square in Konya with respect to the design criteria landscape architecture. In the first place, the thesis emphasizes and highlights the concepts of ?square?, ?pedestrian zones? for the urban life and are focused on to emphasize and highlight their importance and the necessity for the urban life. The functional qualities of pedestrianization in terms of urban planning and urban design principles as well as are discussed the struggling problems at of pedestrianization in the implementation phase.
