In thisstudy, chopper and mixer auger of self-propelled mixer feeder andspreader with a vertical auger and 1.5 m3capacity was optimized byusing finite element method (FEM) of analysis. Auger design wasperformed with Solidworks software and stress analyses wereperformed with Static Analysis Module of the software. For auger tubeanalyses, St37 was selected as the material. Based on stress analysisresults, auger tube dimensions were identified as 219 x 6 mm. Thegreatest stress (91.5 MPa) value was observed at bolted connections ofthe auger tube.
