Özellikle 11. yüzyıldan sonra Anadolu'ya dalgalar halinde gelen Türkmen boylarının yoğunlukla yerleştiği bir bölge olması, Selçuklu ile Bizans arasında sınır teşkil etmesinden dolayı önemini sürdürmüştür. İlk kuruluşu Selçuklu döneminde yapılan yapılarla oluşan Seyitgazi Külliyesi, Seyit Battal Gazi kimliğinden ötürü daha sonraki dönemlerde de önemini korumuş ve özellikle Osmanlı döneminde külliye eklenen yapılar ile bugünkü şeklini kazanmıştır. Bölgede gerçekleştirilen araştırmaların ortaya koyduğu en önemli sonuçlardan biri Seyit Battal Gazi Kimliği çevresinde yüzyıllardan beri oluşturulan Seyitgazi Kültünün, bölgede tespit edilen diğer yapılar üzerinde ve sosyal yaşamda da oldukça belirleyici bir rol oynadığıdır. Çalışmada Seyitgazi türbesi çevresinde oluşturulan külliye ile birlikte bölgede 13. ? 15. yüzyıllara tarihlenen yapılar mimari açıdan incelenmiş ve bölgede tespit edilen benzer özellikteki yapılar ile karşılaştırılarak değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır.Seyitgazi and its surroundings which are located on a fertile agriculture land have been a reason for crowded settlement since the Ancient period. Especially, it continues to be important for being a border between Byzantine and Seljuk on which the Turkmenians settled commonly who came Anatolia in crowds. The Islamic Social Complex of Seyitgazi which was composed with the structures made in the beginning of Seljuk period protects its importance thanks to its name of Seyit Battal Gazi, and especially, it became a social complex as it is today with those structures made in the Ottoman period. One of the important reasons which researches revealed on this area that the complex of Seyitgazi has been a leading role on these ancient structures and social life with its name of Seyit Battal Gazi for centuries.
