Knowledge of this particular pathological entity is important as it can mimic a well differentiated adenocarcinoma of the rectum and therefore could lead to unnecessary surgical resection. We present a case of colitis cystica profunda misdiagnosed as adenocarcinoma based on their similar clinical picture and histological features.en10.1080/00015458.2005.11679722info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesscolitis cystica profundasubmucosal cystsrectal cancerColitis cystica profunda simulating rectal carcinomaArticle105330630816018526Q3WOS:000230387900012Q4
