Yöntem: Otuz asemptomatik Hepatit B yüzey antijeni (HBsAg) taşıyıcısı, 32 akut B hepatitli, ve 45 kronik B hepatitli hastaya ait serum örneklerinde anti-HDV antikoru ELISA yöntemi ile araştırılmıştır. Bulgular: Toplam 107 HBsAg pozitif olgunun 2'sinde (% 1.9) anti-HDV pozitifliği saptanmıştır. Anti-HDV pozitifliği asemptomatik HBsAg taşıyıcıları, kronik B hepatitli ve akut B hepatitli hastalarda sırasıyla % 3.3, % 2.2 ve % 0 olarak bulunmuştur. Sonuç: HBV enfeksiyonunun klinik ve prognozu HDV enfeksiyonundan etkilendiğinden, HDV enfeksiyonundan korunmak için, HBsAg pozitif kişilerde koruyucu tedbirlerin alınması ve seronegatif kişilere de hepatit B aşısının uygulanması uygun olacaktır.Objective: In this study, an investigation of Hepatitis delta virus (HDV) antibody in patients with Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection was aimed. Methods: Anti-HDV antibody was determined by ELISA method in the serum samples of 30 asymptomatic carriers of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), 45 patients with chronic B hepatitis and 32 patients with acute Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Results: Of the total 107 patients, two (1.9%) were found to be positive for anti-HDV. Anti-HDV positivity was found to be 3.3%, 2.2% and 0% in asymptomatic carriers of HBsAg, in patients with, chronic B hepatitis and acute B hepatitis, respectively.
