    Bir Buzağıda Perfore Abomasum Ülseri Olgusu

    In this observation, a case of pertorated abamasal ulcer in a male, 27 day old, Swiss Brown calf is described with the clinical, macroscopical and rnicroscopical findings. Clinical examination revealed dullness, anorexia, hypothermia, ruminal atony and tachycardia. At the necropsy, along with a smail amount of abamasal content within the peritoneal cavity, perforated 2 out of 6 ulcers with sizes of 3-40 mm. at the pylorus were observed. Microscopic examination showed severe necrotic and acute inflammatory changes at the affected areas of pylorus and a diffuse fibrinous peritonitis.

    Expression of hypoxia-inducible factors and vascular endothelial growth factor during pregnancy in the feline uterus

    Hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) have critical roles during the development of the fetomaternal unit. The HIFs regulate placentation and vascularization by stimulation of VEGF gene expression. This study aimed to investigate the expression profiles of HIF gene family and VEGF in the cat uterus during pregnancy. Tissue samples of the whole uterine wall were collected after ovariohysterectomy and allocated to the following groups: embryo positive (group 1 [G1], n = 7, 7 days after mating), early pregnancy (group 2 [G2], n = 7, 20 days after mating), mid-pregnancy (group 3 [G3], n = 7, 24 days after mating), late pregnancy (group 4 [G4], n = 7,30-45 days after mating), and oocyte positive groups (group 5 [G5], n = 7, 7 days after induction of ovulation with GnRH analog). Relative mRNA levels were determined by real-time polymerase chain reaction. As housekeeping gene, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase was used. The relative gene expression of HIF1A in G5 was found to be significantly higher than that of other groups (G1, G2, G3, and G4) (P < 0.05). In addition, the expression of HIF2A in G5 was higher than that of Cl and HIF2A gene expression at placentation sites of G4 was higher than in G1, G2, and G3 (P < 0.05). Immunohistochemistry indicated that HIF1A, HIF2A, and VEGF expressions were observed in different cell types of uterine and placental tissues in late pregnancy and oocyte groups. The expression of HIF3A did not change significantly in any group investigated. These observations suggest that HIFs and VEGF may play a role in the establishment and development of pregnancy.     Kangal Irkı Bi?r Köpekte I?drar Kesesi?nde Leiomyoma Olgusu

    In this report, a case of leiomyoma in urinary bladder of a 5 years old, male, Kangal dog was described. The dog was presented with clinical complains of hematuria, stronguria and prolapsus penis. Clinical and radiographical findings signed a mass in urinary bladder. Erytrocytes, leucocytes and urine crystals were observed in urine samples. Surgically removed tumoral mass was 3x4x6.5cm in diameter, hard and whitish-pink coloured. Histopathologically tumor diagnosed as leiomyoma. Corynebacterium spp. was isolated from urine in postsurgical period.

    Üç sütçü inekte enzootik bovine lökozis (ebl) enfeksiyonunun klinik, serolojik, hematolojik ve patolojik olarak incelenmesi

    Bu çalışmada, 3 yaşında Holstein ırkı üç inekte Enzootik Bovine Lökozis (EBL) enfeksiyonu klinik, serolojik, hematol ojik ve patolojik yönden incelendi. Klinik inceleme lerde hayvanla rda aşırı kilo kaybı, iştahsızl ık, özellikle preskapular lenf düğümünde belirgin olmak üzere tüm yüzlek lenf düğümlerinde büyüme, aralıklı yüksek ateş, kalp aritmisi, düzensiz solunum ve inkoordinasyon geliştiği tespit edildi. Bu klinik görünüme sahip üç inekte yapılan serolojik testlerde [Agar Jel Immunodiffuzyon (AGID) ve Enzim Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)] Bovine Lökozis Virus (BLV)’una karşı antikor varlığı belirlendi. Seropozitif tespit edilen üç inekte, hematolojik muayenelerde B-lenfosit, total lökosit ve total lenfosit oranlarında artışlar ve T-lenfosit, null hücreleri ve nötrofil oranlarında azalmalar görüldü. Hayvanların kesimleri sonrasında yapılan patolojik muayenelerde bütün lenf düğümler inde lenfadenopati dikkati çekti. Özellikle yüzlek lenf düğümle rinde korteks medulla ayrımının yapılamadığı ve kanamaların bulunduğu görüldü.
