Öğe 4-tert-butylcalix[4]arene having nitrile pendant groups as Hg2+ selective receptors(ELSEVIER SCIENCE BV, 2013) Tabakci, Begum; Alici, Onder; Karatas, IbrahimWe synthesized a series of 4-tert-butylcalix[4]arene nitriles (5-7) by the reaction of 4-tert-butylcalix[4]arene (1) with 4'-(6-bromohexyloxy)biphenyl-4-carbonitrile (2), 4'-(10-bromode-cyloxy)biphenyl-4-carbonitrile (3), and 4'-(12-bromododecyloxy)biphenyl-4-carbonitrile (4) and characterized their structures, respectively. The extraction abilities of newly synthesized 5-7 toward some selected heavy metal cations, such as Co2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Cd2+, and Hg2+, were first evaluated and compared by the solvent extraction method. The extraction results revealed that 5-7 were efficient and selective cation receptors for Hg2+ over-selected cations. On the other hand, the complexation behavior of Hg2+ with 5-7 was also investigated by using NMR, UV-vis, and IR spectroscopic methods. (C) 2012 Elsevier B.V. The behaviors of the receptor AAF toward different metal ions were determined by UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. The receptor AAF exhibited a 24-fold increase in fluorescence intensity in the presence of Al3+ over most other competitive metal ions in CH3CN-water (v/v, 1/1). (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. TDA shows a significant fluorescence change upon the interaction of Hg2+ ion in DMF-water (v/v=1/1), while only minor changes in fluorescence intensity are observed with 18 other metal ions. Fluorescence enhancement by a factor of 15 is achieved upon selective interaction with Hg2+ ion. The Hg2+ ion detection process is found to be pH dependent; therefore, TDA could be feasible within a pH range of 4.0-7.0.Öğe 'Naked-eye' detection of F- ions by two novel colorimetric receptors(PERGAMON-ELSEVIER SCIENCE LTD, 2013) Erdemir, Serkan; Kocyigit, Ozcan; Alici, Onder; Malkondu, SaitTwo novel colorimetric receptors, S1 and S2, linked to one or two nitrophenylurea groups were synthesized in good yields, characterized and their chromogenic properties investigated towards various anions (F-, Cl-, Br-, I-, NO3-, AcO-, ClO4-, HSO4-, and H2PO4-) by UV-vis and H-1 NMR techniques. The receptors, effectively and selectively, recognized and distinguished the biologically important F- from other anions such as Cl-, Br-, I- etc. in CH3CN. This selectivity could be easily observed by the naked eye, indicating that receptors S1 and S2 are potential colorimetric sensors for fluoride ion. (c) 2012 Elsevier Ltd. Ion-binding studies of CTP were investigated in acetonitrile with a wide range of cations and anions and the recognition process was monitored by luminescence, UV-vis and H-1 NMR spectral changes. CTP exhibited naked eye detection for Hg2+ ion. Also it showed a significant fluorescence quenching towards F- ion. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. Firstly, 4'-(6-bromohexyloxy)bipheny1-4-carbonitrile, 4'-(8-bromooctylox)bipheny1-4-carbonitrile and 4'-(10-bromoodecyloxy)bipheny1-4-carbonitrile derivatives were synthesized, respectively. Then, with this compound, condensation reaction was determined to p-hydroxybenzaldehyde and new aldehyde derivatives were synthesized. This aldehyde derivatives were converted to new oxime derivatives, not found in the literature. Then, these new oxime derivatives were converted to oxime ether derivatives with iodomethane. All of the obtained products were characterized by a combination of FT-IR, H-1 NMR,C-13 NMR and elemental analysis. Then, the liquid crystal properties of these new compounds were determined by using DSC and POM techniques. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. The behavior of the receptor (L) toward different anions was investigated using UV-visible and fluorescence spectroscopy. The receptor (L) indicated an efficient colorimetric "naked-eye" and "turn on" fluorescent response for fluoride and acetate in CH3CN, respectively. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. In batch sorption experiments, the experimental results show that keto oxime is an effective sorbent towards Zn(II) ions. Therefore, the effects of solution pH, sorption time, temperature, and initial metal ion concentration on Zn(II) sorption were investigated. Maximum Zn(II) ions removal was obtained at 65 degrees C, for 75 min and at pH 5.0 for keto oxime and the batch sorption capacity was found as 1.00 mmol/g. The characteristics of the sorption process for Zn(II) ions were evaluated by using the Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. Also, thermodynamic parameters, i.e. Delta G, Delta S, and Delta H were calculated for the system.Öğe Synthesis of a new colorimetric receptor based on calix[4]pyrrole binding oxime for selective recognition of fluoride ions(TAYLOR & FRANCIS LTD, 2014) Taner, Bilge; Alici, Onder; Deveci, PervinA colorimetric anion sensor -meso-heptaethylcalix[4]pyrrole-meso-3-aminophenyl-p-nitrobenzaldoxime was synthesised and characterised by various spectroscopic techniques. Anion-binding studies were carried out using UV-vis, and H-1 NMR titrations, revealing that the receptor exhibits selective recognition towards F- over other anions. The selectivity for F- among the halides is attributed mainly to the hydrogen bond interaction of the receptor with F-. Receptor showed colour change from colourless to yellow in the presence of tetrabutylammonium fluoride with 1:2 stoichiometry. Cyclic voltammetry studies, carried out in CH3CN, provided evidence of an anion-dependent electrochemical response with F- ion. This response was particularly dramatic in the case of receptor after the addition of approximate to 1equiv. of F- ion.Öğe Synthesis of New Substituted 1,2,4-Triazines from Isonitrosoketones and Terephthalaldehydedihydrazone(WILEY-BLACKWELL, 2012) Alici, Onder; Karatas, IbrahimThis study describes a novel method for the synthesis of 1,2,4-triazines. Firstly, isonitrosoacetophenone, p-methylisonitrosoacetophenone, and isonitroso-1-acetylnaphthalene were synthesized from the reaction of butylnitrite with acetophenone, p-methylisonitrosoacetophenone, and 1-acetylnaphthalene, respectively. Then, symmetric derivatives of 1,2,4-triazines were prepared from the condensation reaction of keto oximes with terephthalohydrazone. However, the heteroaromatic closure was not observed in the condensation reaction of pyruvic-aldehyde-1-oxime(keto oxime) with terephthalohydrazone. Structures of the obtained products were confirmed by FTIR, 1H-NMR, and elemental analyses techniques.
