Öğe A comparison of the revenues of wheat producers in Turkey: A case of eu member and non-member status with spatial reference to Central Anatolia region(2011) Arisoy H.; Eraktan G.This study aimed to present a comparison of the revenues of Turkish wheat producers with the ones in EU, based on Turkey's probable EU member and non-member status. The data of the study were based on 104 questionnaires acquired from the conducted surveys in the Central Anatolia Region in the period of 2008 to 2009. The revenues of wheat producing holdings in Turkey were below the revenues of the ones in EU according to the results of the study. Based on probable EU membership from Turkey, the gap between average revenues is widened more and the Turkish producers' competitive power is weakened. Agricultural supports ought to be directed to the cost deducting devices, and incentives for preventing land fragmentation. Besides, measures to improve productivity in agriculture should be taken into consideration in order to narrow the income gap between the Turkish and EU producers. © 2011 Academic Journals.Öğe Determination of the prospective works and innovative performance of the firms that manufacture agricultural machines in Konya province(2013) Arisoy H.; Ornek M.N.; Korkmaz I.; Haciseferogullari H.Konya province has an important role in Turkey's agricultural machinery manufacturing sector. The development in the sector has direct effect on agricultural production. In this study, it is aimed to determine the prospective activities and innovative performances of the firms which all of them are small and medium sized enterprises, exhibiting their present state. 112 firms are interviewed by using the complete inventory method in the study. The results of surveys are interpreted by the basic statistical methods such as frequency tables, percentage values and by using Likert Scale and Multiple Correspondence Analysis technic. 90% of the firms are micro and small sized enterprises. Firms are insufficient for the training, management and finance. It is determined that firms have no prospective work, the experienced firms are more innovative than the others. Parting of the firms should be prevented. The support of finance, quality, soft ware, quality personnel, consultancy in marketing and training and fair should be given effectively to the firms.Öğe The situation of regional concentration of apple foreign trade in Turkey [Türkiye’nin elma dış ticaretindeki bölgesel yoğunlaşma durumu](Centenary University, 2019) Arisoy H.; Aras İ.; Kaya M.F.World agricultural crops and products trade has shown an increasing trend. Turkey is among the countries in foreign trade advantages with its agricultural potential. As one of the most important apple producer country, monitoring of developments in the world apple trade is extremely important for Turkey. The aim of this study was to evaluate Turkey's position in world apple trade. The developments of apple foreign trade between Turkey and importer countries was analyzed using Trade Intensity Analysis Method. Turkey supplied 55% of total apple exports to Iraq. Dependency on a single country in apple exports carries risks. Development in apple production of China, India and EU countries has also reflected in the balances of international apple trade. Turkey should increase apple export by diversifying foreign markets to sustain its apple exports. In this context, market researches should be conducted especially to find and entrance into new markets. Besides the fresh apples, the activities for the export of dry apples should be implemented. © 2019, Centenary University. All rights reserved.
