Sexual Experiences of Women Exposed to Hemodialysis Treatment

This article investigates the sexual experiences of ten women exposed to Hemodialysis treatment. Descriptive content analysis methods were used. All the women included were housewives, nine had at least one child, and nine reported they received social support from their family members since the beginning of their illness. Of the ten women in the study, seven experienced sexual problems. Sexual dysfunction is one of the most frequently encountered health problems and should certainly be evaluated in each patient. In the light of these findings, it could be argued that nurses should be aware of the patient's sexual lifestyle and functioning.
