Öğe Effects of selective iNOS inhibition in sepsis: Evaluation of lung tissue damage and blood gases(2008) Ceran S.; Erikoglu M.; Sahin M.; Sunam G.S.; Gölcük M.; Pasao?lu H.; Avsar F.NO is an important mediator in the generalized inflammatory response of the body during sepsis and septic shock. We investigated the possible effects of L-arginine and aminoguanidine on plasma NO levels and the interaction between NO levels and lung tissue damage and blood gases in sepsis. Fifty Wistar male rats were used in this study and divided into five groups: group 1, sham group; group 2, CLP (sepsis); group 3, CLP + 10 mg/kg L-arginine administration; group 4, CLP +15 mg/kg aminoguanidine administration; group 5: CLP + L-arginine + aminoguanidine given in similar doses. Sepsis was induced by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) method. Drugs were administered at postoperative hours 4 and 12. The levels in the aminoguanidine and aminoguanidine + L-arginine groups were similar to the sham group. Lung tissue damage in the sepsis and L-arginine groups was more severe than the other groups.Öğe Lung hydatid cyst rupture and its surgery.(1994) Solak H.; Ceran S.; Ozpinar C.; Yeniterzi M.; Yuksek T.; Sunam G.S.; Odev K.Hydatid cysts are common in Turkey. Authors have seen 248 cases of lung hydatid cysts; Fifty hydatid cyst of lung had ruptured. Their symptoms and detailed findings are reported. Rupture caused asphyxia in 3, haemoptysis in 20, lung abcess in 16, rupture in pleural cavity in 4 and anaphylactic reaction in one case.Öğe Monostotic fibrous dysplasia (two cases report) [Monostotik Fibröz Displazi (İki Olgu Nedeniyle)](Derman Medical Publishing, 2012) Döngel İ.; Bayram M.; Sapmaz F.; Ceran S.Fibrous dysplasia is an a developmental benign anomaly of the bone which originates mesenchymal cells. It has an unknown origin. Three types were defined. Monostotic fibrous dysplasia is the most frequent form approximately 70% of all cases. It’s seen in adoscelent ages and calms down when the bone growth ends. Multifocal fibrous dysplasia which is seen with endocrine diseases are about of 3-5% of all cases. In this study we aimed to present two cases of monostotic fibrous dysplasia after completion bone growth. We performed enbloc resection of the rib for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment. © 2012, Derman Medical Publishing. All rights reserved.
