Öğe Design and optimization of production parameters for boric acid crystals with the crystallization process in an MSMPR crystallizer using FBRM (R) and PVM (R) technologies(ELSEVIER SCIENCE BV, 2017) Kutluay, Sinan; Sahin, Omer; Ceyhan, A. Abdullah; Izgi, M. SaitIn crystallization studies, newly developed technologies, such as Focused Beam Reflectance Measurement (FBRM) and Particle Vision and Measurement (PVM) are applied for determining on-line monitoring of a representation of the Chord Length Distribution (CLD) and observe the photographs of crystals respectively; moreover recently they are widely used. Properly installed, the FBRM ensures on-line determination of the CLD, which is statistically associated to the Crystal Size Distribution (CSD). In industrial crystallization, CSD and mean crystal size as well as external habit and internal structure are important characteristics for further use of the crystals. In this paper, the effect of residence time, stirring speed, feeding rate, supersaturation level and the polyelectrolytes such as anionic polyacrylamide (APAM) and non-ionic polyacrylamide (NPAM) on the CLD as well as the shape of boric acid crystals were investigated by using the FBRM G600 and the PVM V819 probes respectively in an MSMPR (Mixed Suspension Mixed Product Removal) crystallizer. The CSD and kinetic data were determined experimentally using continuous MSMPR crystallizer running at steady state. The population density of nuclei, the nucleation rate and the growth rate were determined from the experimental population balance distribution when the steady state was reached. Yıldız; Ceyhan, A. AbdullahIn this study, the effect of K2HPO4 and KOH on the nucleation kinetics of potassium di hydrogen phosphate (KDP) was investigated. The polythermal method was used for the measurement of the metastable zone width(MZW) and experiments were carried out at three cooling rates. It was found that, additives not measured with concentration, but they increased the solubility and decreased the MZW of KDP. The MZW was sharply decreased by the addition of additive(s) up to 100 ppm concentration to the aqueous solution of KDP.Öğe Formaldehit ile modifiye edilmiş iğde çekirdeği kullanılarak sulu çözeltilerden malahit yeşilinin uzaklaştırılması(Selçuk Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi, 2013) Ceyhan, A. Abdullah; Baytar, Orhan; Güngör, Ahmet; Saygınlı, Eyüp; Söylemez, CelalBu çalışmada, iğde çekirdeği renk immobilizasyonu için formaldehit ile muamele edilerek adsorpsiyon işleminde kullanılmıştır. Malahit yeşilinin çözeltiden uzaklaştırılmasında iğde çekirdeğinin uygun olduğu tespit edilmiştir.Öğe The investigation of thermal decomposition kinetics of potassium tetraborate tetrahydrate by thermal analysis(Selçuk Üniversitesi Mühendislik-Mimarlık Fakültesi, 2009) Ceyhan, A. Abdullah; Demir, Halil; Şahin, ÖmerThe thermal decomposition of potassium tetraborate tetrahydrate to potassium tetraborate were studied by using the traditional criterion of the mathematical fitting of g(?) function and model free linear isoconversional methods. The nonisothermal kinetic triplet (f(?), A and E) obtained by model fitting method for potassium tetraborate tetrahydrate can be represented by different kinetic model, but the apparent activation energy is far from each other. The complex nature of the multi?step process of the studied compounds was more easily revealed using a wider temperature range in nonisothermal isoconversional method.
