Öğe Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time and Prothrombin Time in Cows With Left Displaced Abomasum(Indian Veterinary Journal, 2003) Oğurtan, Zeki; Ok, Mahmut ; İzci, Celal; Ceylan, C.[Abstract not Available]Öğe Akut Hemoraji?k Şok Oluşturulan Köpekleri?n Sağaltımında Kan ile % 7.5 NaCl/% 6 Dextran 70 Kombi?nasyonu Uygulamalarının Etki?leri(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 1999) Arıcan, M.; Keskin, E.; Yiğitarslan, K.; Ceylan, C.In this study, effects of small volumes of blood and 7.5% NaCV 6 % dextran administrations in dogs with induced haemorrahagic shocks induced experimentally were investigated. For this purpose totally 12 dogs were used as a matenal. The dogs were divided into 2 groups each of 6 dogs. Haemorrhagic shock was performed experimentally by taking arterial blood via cut down catheters. By this way the mean arterial pressure was reduced to 40 ±5 mmHg. At the end of the hypotensive period, the dogs of the group 1 and 2 were treated by bolus injection of 5ml/ kg of blood and 75% NaCV 6 % dextran respectively. The blood samples for the determination of blood gases analy ses were taken before the experiment, at the end of hypotensive period and after treatment at 30th, 60th and 90th mi nutes and other parameters (heart rate, blood pressure, respiration rate and body temperature) were recorded. In the study, Group 1 (treated by bolus injection of blood), after the bolus injection, blood pressure at 30th, 60th and 90th mins were increased compare to the hipotensive period, but, this increased was only important at the 90th min (p < 0.05) . On the other hand, these increased were important at the 30th, 60th and 90th minutes in group 2 Sig- nificantly decreased levels of arterial HC O^ . 2 and pC*O_{2} were found (p < 0.05) , The decreased levels of hematocrit values were significant compared to the hipotensive period in group 2 (p < 0.05) After treatment of hypertonic fluid in group 2. plasma Na levels were significantly increased compared to the hipotensive period. Consideration in the study that particularly small volumes of 7.5 % NaCl 6% Dextran administration in case of haemorrahagic shock, can make advantages.Öğe The Effect of Alkanna Tinctoria Tausch on Burn Wound Healing in Rabbits(M H Schaper Gmbh Co Kg, 2002) Oğurtan, Zeki ; Hatipoğlu, Fatih; Ceylan, C.Eighteen adult male New Zealand White rabbits were used in the treatment of partial thickness, severe and olive oil burns. Both right and left sides of the animals were burned to make partial thickness, severe and hot olive oil burn wounds. The solution of A. tinctoria TAUSCH in 16 % prepared in medical olive oil in weight basis, were applied to the left, and right side served as control. It was topically applied twice a day by gently rubbing against the burn area. While complete healing of partial thickness and olive oil burn wounds occurred in 7 to 10, and 26 days, respectively, with well formed dermal-epidermal junctions in both groups, severely burned wounds appeared to be nonresponsive to A. tinctoria.Öğe Effect of Xylazine-Ketamine and Diazepam-Ketamine Anesthesia on Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time, Prothrombin Time and Bleeding Time in Dogs(Ecole Nationale Veterinaire Toulouse, 2002) Oğurtan, Zeki; Ceylan, C.; İpek, H.; İzci, CelalThe effects of xylazine ketamine and diazepam-ketamine on activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), prothrombin time (PT) and buccal mucosa bleeding time (BMBT) were evaluated in dogs. Altered APTT, PT and BMBT values were found in xylazine-ketamine and diazepam ketamine anesthesia. Comparison of xylazine-ketamine to diazepam ketamine revealed a significant increase for APTT, PT at 30, 60 and 90 minutes and for BMBT at 30 and 60 minutes.Öğe Effects of Hyperosmolar Ionic and Low Osmolar Non-ionic Contrast Media on Coagulation Times and Some Blood Parameters in Dogs: an in Vivo Study(Wiley, 2003) İzci, Celal; Oğurtan, Zeki; Ceylan, C.The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of hyper-osmolar ionic contrast media (CM) (diatzioate) and low osmolar non-ionic CM (iohexol and ioxilan) on coagulation time and some blood parameters in dogs in vivo. The animals were divided into three groups in equal numbers. The dogs in groups 1, 11 and III received diatrizoate, iohexol and ioxilan at the dose of 700 mgI/kg intravenously (IV) as a bolus, respectively. Administration of contrast media and blood samples were collected from vena cephalica antebrachii prior to CM administration and thereafter at 3, 15, 30, 60, 90 and 180 min and 24 h to measure the coagulation factors [activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), prothorombin time (PT), fibrinogen and fibrinogen degradation products] and some other blood parameters [red blood cells, platelet, white blood cells, haematocrit (Ht) and haemoglobin (Hb)]. While a statistically significant decrease was observed on APTT at 15 min in group III, no significant differences were found in groups I and II. All the groups had insignificant alterations for PT, fibrinogen and fibrinogen degradation product, following CM administration. Significant decreases were observed for platelet at 3 min in all groups. This decrease was also significant at 15- and 30- min intervals in group I. There were significant decreases for erythrocytes, Ht and Hb measurements within 30 min, and no significant alterations were observed for leucocytes within 60 min in all groups compared with baseline values. No differences were observed with regard to coagulation times and some blood parameters as far as long-lasting and major effects of each CM are concerned.Öğe Ogurtan Intramedullary Decompressional and Antirotational Device (Oidad) - a Descriptive Report(ECOLE NATIONALE VETERINAIRE TOULOUSE, 2002) Oğurtan, Zeki; İzci, Celal; Ceylan, C.The aim of this study was to describe the use of Ogurtan Intramedullary Decompressional and Antirotational Device (OIDAD) used on a variety of long bone fractures in dog and man. Lateral approach was used to expose the femoral shaft,. and OIDAD was applied lateromedially. The use of the OIDAD with short and long proximal parts and long distal part is presented. It is possible to apply the OIDAD causing unlimited complete interfragmental compression 360degrees around the fracture line along with complete antirotational effect in the femur. Although the femur of the dogs has a curvature anatomically it was possible to bring the fractured segments together circumferentially. Because femur of the man straigth compared to that of dog, the use of OIDAD should be a lot easier in man than in dogs.Öğe Oğurtan Intramedullary Decompressional and Antirotational Device (Oidad). Absence of faeces, progressive depression and abdominal distension were the most common clincial signs. The Atresia coli was confirmed by a right flank laparotomy and colostomy was performed through the right flank.Öğe The Surgical-Repair of Calves With Atresia Coli(Indian Veterinary Journal, 2002) Alkan, Fahrettin; Koç, Yılmaz; Ceylan, C.[Abstract not Available]
