(Lamiaceae) from Turkey(UNIV FLORENCE BOTANY INST, 2011) Martin, Esra; Cetin, Ozlem; Dirmenci, Tuncay; Ay, HilalUsing the squash method of preparation, somatic chromosome numbers were counted of Clinopodium cilicicum, C. congestum, C. dolichodontum, C. serpyllifolium subsp. barbatum, C. serpyllifolium subsp. brachycalyx, C. serpyllifolium subsp. giresunicum, C. serpyllifolium subsp. serpyllifolium, Micromeria cremnophila subsp. amana, M. cremnophila subsp. anatolica, M. cristata subsp. phrygia, M. cristata subsp. orientalis, M. elliptica, M. graeca subsp. graeca, M. juliana, M. myrtifolia, M. nervosa all of which grow naturally in Turkey. Chromosome numbers of 12 taxa are reported for the first time.Öğe New chromosome counts of genus Stachys (Lamiaceae) from Turkey(TUBITAK SCIENTIFIC & TECHNICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL TURKEY, 2011) Martin, Esra; Çetin, Özlem; Akçiçek, Ekrem; Dirmenci, TuncaySomatic chromosome numbers of 26 Stachys L. taxa (14 species, 11 subspecies, and 1 varietas), collected from different localities in Turkey, were counted for the first time, except for Stachys byzantina C.Koch and S. thirkei C.Koch. In this study, all of the Stachys taxa determined were somatic with chromosome numbers counted as 2n = 30. This research has made a contribution to the taxonomic revision of the genus Stachys in Turkey.Öğe New chromosome numbers of genus Stachys L. (sect. Epitrachys (Asteraceae: Cardueae) from the south of Turkey(TUBITAK SCIENTIFIC & TECHNICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL TURKEY, 2017) Duman, Hayri; Tugay, Osman; Dirmenci, Tuncay; Ertugrul, KuddisiA new species, Cirsium bozkirensis H. Duman, Dirmenci & Tugay (Asteraceae), Cirsium sect. Epitrachys DC, is described from Konya Province, South Anatolia, Turkey. Diagnostic and morphological characteristics that distinguish it from allied species C. cephalotes Boiss. and C. pugnax Sommier & Levier. are provided. A description, distribution map, and taxonomic comments on the new species and allied species are given. SEM photograph about setae, stem indumentum, and achene of new and allied species are obtained and characters are discussed.Öğe A new species of Cirsium sect. Detailed illustrations and taxonomic comments are provided along with a table listing the differential characters to the closely related S. byzantina and S. thirkei. Delimitations towards S. byzantina and S. thirkei and existence of putative hybrids are discussed. A phylogenetic analysis using ITS of nuclear ribosomal DNA confirmed the status of S. vuralii as a distinct species. The geographical location of S. vuralii is also presented.
