(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 1992 Mart) Tıpırdamaz, Sadettin; Dursun, Necdet; Erden, Hasan; Gezici, Memduh; Nur, İ. Hakkı
In this study, numbers and the courses of the afferent and efferent lymph vessels of the cervical superficial node and popliteal lymph node were investigated in Akkaraman sheep. As a material, eight Akkaraman sheep were used. Four or six afferent lymph vessels enter to the cervical superficial lymph node. The efferent lymph vessels leaving from this node, are three in number and these vessels joined together with each other, forming a single lymph vessel. Efferents on the left side terminate in the external jugular vein. On the right side, the efferents terminate in the right lymph duct. It was seen that 4 or 6 afferent lymph vessels entered to the popliteal node and one efferent leaved from this node. Efferent on the right and left side goes to the medial iliac lymph node.

The Effect of Stomach Volume on the Colon Topography in Cats
(URBAN & FISCHER VERLAG, 2001) Gezici, Memduh; Eken, Emrullah
The aim of this study has been to describe the effect of varying degrees of fullness of the stomach on the topography of colon in cats by means of the sectional anatomy of the abdominal cavity, Twenty-four adult healthy cats of both sexes and of different ages were used. The cats were divided into two groups, of which group one had empty stomachs and the second filled stomachs. Eight cats were dissected. The remaining cats were frozen at -20 degreesC, the eight of which were sectioned paramedially and the other eight transversely. The ascending colon started at the level of the fifth lumbar vertebra, and the cranial boundary of the transverse colon was at the level of the second lumbar vertebra in cats with empty stomachs. The ascending colon started at the level of the sixth lumbar vertebra in cats with full stomachs, while the cranial boundary of the transverse colon was at the level of the fourth lumbar vertebra and had lost relationship to the right kidney resting directly on the vertebral column. In both groups, the descending colon was located in the left abdominal cavity up to the level of the sixth lumbar vertebra, at which point it curved medially and ran cranial to the seventh lumbar vertebra in the median plane. Results from this study are to throw light on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.

(Blackwell Verlag GMBH, 2002) Eken, Emrullah; Gezici, Memduh
The aim of this study has been to describe the effect of varying degrees of fullness of the stomach on liver topography in cats by means of the sectional anatomy of the abdominal cavity. Twenty-four adult healthy cats of both sexes and of different ages were used. The cats were divided into two groups. The first group had empty stomachs and the second group had filled stomachs. Eight cats were dissected. The remaining cats were frozen at - 20 degreesC, eight of these were then sectioned paramedially and the other eight were sectioned transversely. In the dissection and sections, it was observed that the liver shifted considerably to the right and craniodorsally in cats with full stomachs. In this article, the topographical anatomy of the liver according to varying stomach volumes is described in a manner that is useful to veterinary surgeons and clinicians. The sectional findings obtained from the paramedial and transverse sections provide information for computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.

    Köpeklerde Ön Extremi?teni?n Arteriel Vaskulari?zasyonu
(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 1989 Ocak) Dursun, Necdet; Tıpırdamaz, Sadettin; Gezici, Memduh
This study was made to investigate the arteriel blood blood supply of thoracic limb in dogs. In this study, 14 dogs were used. Latex and polyester resin were used in the investigation of the material. Axillary artery supplies thoracic limb. Axillary artery divides into brachial and subscapular arteries between the subscapularis and the conjoined tendon of the teres major and latissimus dorsi. The subscapular artery continues dorsocaudally between the subscapularis and teres major along the caudal border of the scapula towards its caudal angle. The circumflex scapular cranial and caudal circumflex humeral and thoracodorsal arteries arise from subsapulary artery. The brachial artery is the distal continuation of the axillary artery in the arm. The brachial artery, after giving the deep brachial artery, the collateral ulnar artery, the superficial brachial artery, the transverse cubital artery and the common interosseus artery is termed median artery. From these arteries, medial branch of superficial antebrachial artery dosen't form dorsal carpal rete it directly continues as common dorsal digital artery. The median artery gives the deep antebrachial artery, radial artery within the proximal third and fourth of the forearm respectively. The parent vessel forms palmar superficial arch. From this arch arise abaxial palmar digital artery V and palmar common digital arteries I, II, III and IV. From this arch arises abaxial palmar digital artery. V. Besides, dorsal branch of the ulnar artery continues as abaxial dorsal digital artery V.

    Sokak Köpeği?ni?n Tonsilla Palati?nası Üzeri?nde Makroanatomik Çalışmalar
    (Selçuk Üniversitesi, 1994) Gezici, Memduh
The aim of this study was to determine the topography of palatina tonsils and their relations to the regional lymph nodes. Eleven heads of the mongrel dogs were used as materials. Following infusion of the vessels with latex, 7 of the heads were dissected to observe the topographies of palatina tonsillae. India ink was injected in to the palatina tonsillae of the remaining 4 dogs which were under anesthesia. An half hour after the injection, animals were euthanasied and then formalin (10 % formaldehyd) was infused through the common carotid artery. Following formalin infusion, latex was also injected via both arteries and veins. Based on the observations it was concluded that the palatina tonsillae drained into the median retropharyngeal lymph nodes via efferent lymphatics. Palatina tonsillae located in a position medially to the epihyoid bone under the median pterygoidea muscle, on the apices of the epiglottis, lateraly to the soft palate and the organ was 27.05 mm in length, 4.89 mm in thickness and 8.34 mm in widthness on awerage. During the observations the location and relationships were olso fixed by photography.

Thoracic Duct in Cats (Felis Catus)
(Ecole Nationale Veterinaire Toulouse, 2002) Eken, Emrullah; Beşoluk, Kemal; Tıpırdamaz, Saadettin; Gezici, Memduh; Bahar, Sadullah
To describe the origin, course and termination of the thoracic duct in cats, eight adult healthy cats of both sexes and of different ages, were examined. Abdominal cavity was opened with a median incision under general anaesthesia. Then, Indian ink was injected into the lymph nodes of the abdominal cavity, and into the popliteal lymph nodes. After exsanguination by the conventional methods, the animals were fixed with 10% formalin. Then, the thoracic duct was investigated by dissection. In all cats the thoracic duct arising from the craniodorsal part of the Cisterna chyli as a single trunk at the level of L2 entered the thoracic cavity through the aortic hiatus of the diaphragm. In the caudal and middle mediastinurn it had a rope ladder appearance around the intercostal arteries and dorsal to the thoracic aorta. Forming a single trunk at the level of T8, it ran cranioventrally up to the level of the cranial thoracic aperture. At this level the thoracic duct joined as a single duct the left external jugular vein in six cats, and the venous angle in two cats. Between T1 and T2, the thoracic duct was divided into two parts 1 cut before e meting the venous system in one cat. During its course as a single channel the thoracic duct had a beaded appearance because of having valves. In the light of the normal anatomical position of the thoracic duct in the cat we suggest that the thoracic duct may be cannulated in its initial and terminal portions.
