Öğe 3D Photogrammetric model of Eflatunpinar monument at the age of Hittite empire in Anatolia(ELSEVIER FRANCE-EDITIONS SCIENTIFIQUES MEDICALES ELSEVIER, 2009) Karauguz, Guengoer; Corumluoglu, Oezsen; Kalayci, Ibrahim; Asri, IbrahimEflatunpinar monument is located about 25 km at the North of Beysehir (Konya-Turkey). The monument which belongs to Hittite Empire Age was known since XIX century and there are several papers written on this monument in the literature. The monument which is 7.02 m wide and 3.6 m high was built of large tracit block stones. Latest excavation carried out by Konya's Archeology Museum in 1996 showed that the monument was built with some other parts and surrounded by a water channel. These results have pushed the scientist into a discussion - as it has usually been done intensively several times in the past-on environmental arrangements surrounding the monument. Hittite scripts brought to light implicate that monument surrounded by trees and prohibited someone to cut these trees off by law. Archaeological studies done on Eflatunpinar monument were carried out by classical techniques. Therefore, those studies were limited by capabilities of classical techniques and were not able to present more than plan and some cross-sections. By this study, it is made a modern approach which is alternative to classical technique and using a digital and virtual environment provided by computer technology. As a result of this Study, all measurements can easily be collected by the help of this 3D virtual model of the monument with no need to be on the site at any time they are required. Complete 3D model will also provide a numerical evaluation, interpretation and several analyses on monument together with its environment and Surroundings. All rights reserved.Öğe 3D reconstruction of phalangeal and metacarpal bones of male judo players and sedentary men by MDCT images(JOURNAL SPORTS SCIENCE & MEDICINE, 2008) Kalayci, IbrahimThis study has been performed to reveal hand bone peculiarities of elite male judoists by comparing their phalangeal and metacarpal bones with those of sedentary men on the basis of biometric ratio of the bones by means of three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) images. For this purpose, the axial images of the right and left hands of 8 elite male judo players (mean age: 22.0 +/- 2.9 years, mean weight: 64.0 +/- 4.9 kg) and 8 sedentary men (mean age: 26.0 +/- 2.8 years, mean weight: 69.0 +/- 3.6 kg) were obtained from MDCT. After semi-automatic segmentation and manual editing, the tracings of bone surfaces were stacked and overlaid to be reconstructed as the 3D images by the 3D program. All biometrical measurements of the reconstructed images of the bones were automatically calculated by this program to analyze statistically. This study showed that the differences between biometric ratios of judoist and sedentary men's hand bones were significant contrary to null hypothesis which was established as there is no difference between biometric hand bone ratios of these men of both groups. Therefore null hypothesis was rejected. Author suggests that intense clutching actions practised in judo sports can most probably lead to some hand bone proliferations. 3D reconstructed results belonging to the judo players and sedentary men help orthopaedists to diagnose pathological formations related to hand bones of judoists and may be used for anatomical education in medicine faculties, respectively. We hope that the results from the biometric and reconstructive techniques carried out in this work will contribute to the present knowledge on judoist and shed light on the future studies on sports medicine related to skeletal structure of other sportsmen.Öğe Morphometric evaluation of chinchillas (chinchilla lanigera) femur with different modelling techniques(KAFKAS UNIV, VETERINER FAKULTESI DERGISI, 2016) Ozkadif, Sema; Varlik, Abdullah; Kalayci, Ibrahim; Eken, EmrullahTogether with technological developments, different methods in anatomic and morphometric studies have been started to be used. In fact, in this study, more than one method was used and the reliability of these methods was presented. This study was performed in the aim of getting 3D model with three dimensional (3D) reconstruction and photogrammetric methods obtained from multidetector computerized tomography (MDCT) images of femur of chinchilla by mimics program, comparing the data of both methods and presenting whether there was a difference between genders as well as left and right sides. For this purpose, 6 chinchillas of both sexes were used. First of all, MDCT images of animals were taken under general anaesthesia and 3D reconstruction was obtained after transferring the data to personal computer as DICOM format. After taking MDCT images, the femurs of the animals killed by the conventional methods were cleaned of muscle and fats by boiling and their 3D models was formed by using images via photogrammetric methods. The measurements were taken from the models of two methods and volume and surface area of femur were found significant at a level of p< 0.05 as a result of statistical processes. According to this, a statistically difference was not found in morphometric measurement values except volume and surface area. Moreover, while a statistical difference was not found between right and left femur of both sexes, a difference was determined between sexes and it was observed that the measurement values of females were higher than males. As a result, since 3D models obtained by both methods had almost same values, it was considered that these methods could be used in anatomic and morphometric studies.
