Öğe Revisiting Peanuts characters: As seen by existential philosophy and clinical psychology(Selçuk Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, 2024) Kaya, Serdar; Yeğin, Fatma KalpaklıToday, it is a known fact that artists reflect their own feelings and thoughts on their works while creating their works. This is the same in the field of music, painting, and literature. A novelist reflects his/her thoughts and emotional states to the characters in his/her books. Each character has a unique life condition, life story. Schulz, the creator of the Peanuts comic strip, which forms the basis of this thesis, added a certain personality to each of the characters in this comic he portrayed until his death. In the comic strip, the characters play the role assigned to them in the best way. Snoopy appears in front of the reader and audience with different professions and characters. Although he is a dog, he lies on top of his booth, not inside, due to his claustrophobia. He takes on different characters with his alter ego. Charlie Brown, the owner of Snoopy, was found to be noticeably friendly by the reader due to his peer bullying and difficulties he faced. In such characters, the reader begins to find himself/herself in the characters by immersing himself/herself in the events they experience. The situations in which Charlie Brown's dog Snoopy and other friends lived in this adventure are noteworthy. The aim of this thesis is to examine the analysis of the characters in Schulz's Peanuts and to explain the characters, their lifestyles, their emotional states and psychological characters
