Öğe Investigation of the Satisfaction Levels of University Students from Social and Sports Activities Provided in the University Environment(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2019 Ocak) Pepe, Şirin; Pepe, Hamdi; Pepe, KadirResearch was carried out for the purpose of determination of satisfaction of university students from social and sportive activities provided by their universities. Research is a survey screening type of research. Universe of the research is central campus of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University of Burdur and its population is 800 students who were selected randomly and who study at different units located in this campus. In this study, data were acquired by survey method. A purpose-oriented survey was developed. Understandability, validness of the scope and reliability of the survey were established. Cronbach’s Alpha Reliability Coefficient of the survey was found to be 0,89. Survey was applied to sample group by making one on one interviews with random sampling method. Survey was answered by 800 students in total, being 424 women and 376 men. Frequency (%), Crosstabs and Chi Square (?2) tests were made as statistical procedure. 0,05 was accepted as confidence interval in determination of differences between variables. As a result of obtained data; we can suggest that participants were mainly satisfied from social and sportive activities provided in the university environment within the scope of the research, however, women were more satisfied in social activities compared to men and men were more satisfied in sportive activities compared to women.Öğe Investigation of University Students’ Overall Quality of College Life and Their Satisfaction with This Life Terms of Their Genders and Departments(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2020 Nisan) Dalaman, Osman; Öztürk, Rabia; Pepe, KadirThe current study was conducted to investigate university students’ life quality and life satisfaction in the campus. The study was designed in the survey model. The population of the study is comprised of the students attending the Physical Education and Sports School, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Education in the central campus of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. The sample consists of 400 students selected from among the population through random sampling. The data were collected through the questionnaire method. As the questionnaire, “The University Life Quality Scale” adapted to Turkish by (13) was used. From this scale, the overall life quality and overall life satisfaction dimensions were taken. The Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient was calculated to be 0.85 for the overall life quality dimension and 0.83 for the overall life satisfaction dimension. The questionnaire was administered to the students through face-to-face method. A total of 400 students (212 females and 188 males) responded to the questionnaire. In order to analyze the collected data, percentages (%) were calculated and Independent Samples T Test and Kruskal-Wallis Test, Bivariate Correlation were used. In the determination of the differences between the variables, 0.05 was taken as the confidence interval. The obtained findings have revealed that the students’ overall life quality and life satisfaction in the campus mean scores are low, that while their mean scores do not vary significantly by gender, their overall life quality mean scores vary significantly depending on the faculty they attend (p<0,05). As a result, it can be said that the participating students’ overall life quality and life satisfaction in the campus mean scores are low.Öğe Investigation of Waist / Height Ratio and Body Mass Indexes of Sports Centers(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2018 Aralık) Turkay, Kubilay Ibrahim; Pepe, Kadir; Dincer, OzgurThis research was carried out to examine waist / aspect ratios and body mass indexes of the individuals who came to the sport s center between 2006-2016. The universe of the study is the Olimpia Sports Hall, which is connected to Burdur city center, and the sample is 3001 people who came to Olimpia Sports Center. Tape and scale were used for body measurements. In order to analyze the data, frequency and percentages of the group were taken, descriptive statistical data were determined, and the significance level of age and gender groups were analyzed by One Way ANOVA test. Significance was examined at 0.05 level. Elde edilen veriler sonucunda Ortaöğretim kurumlarında yönlendirme işleminin bilimsel yöntemlerle yapılmadığı,spor alanı öğrencilerinin yetenek seçimi ile belirlenmediği ve uygulanan müfredat programının da önceden kapatılan üç yıllık spor lisesi programı olduğu,mevcut uygulamaların genel olarak öğrencilerin seçimi ve geliştirilmesi açısından uygun olmadığı söylenebilirÖğe A Scrutiny on the Factors Affecting the Participation of Women Doing Sports and not Doing Sports in Sportive Events(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2019 Nisan) Kıvrak, Ali Osman; Pepe, Şirin; Pepe, Kadir; Erdoğan, Barbaros SerdarThe study has been conducted in order to scrutinize the factors affecting the participation of women doing sports and not doing sports in sportive events.The population of the study is constituted by Selcuk University, Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Uludağ University, and Gazi University, with the thought that we can find the individuals from all sections of the Turkish society all together and its sampling group consists of the female students studying at those universities. The data were obtained from written sources and by means of the questionnaire method. A questionnaire oriented to the objective has been developed. The understandability of the questionnaire as well as the validity and reliability of its scope were ensured. The questionnaire’s CronbachAlpha reliability coefficient was found as 0,60. The coefficient is a valid coefficient according to the researchers as well. The questionnaires were filled in through one-to-one discussions in the sampling group by means of the random sampling method. Total 828 women, being 538 doing sports and 290 not doing sports, took part in the study in its state mentioned above. The data obtained were transferred to the computer environment for statistical transaction. As the statistical process, the Chi-Square test processes were conducted for identifying the frequency, %, Crosstab, and differences. In the determination of the differences, 0,05 was accepted as the level of significance. Upon the assessment of the data obtained, it was determined that the factors affecting women’s participation in sportive events are religious reasons, family pressure, government policy, the fact the some branches of sports are not suitable for the physical properties of women, the fact that sportive events inflict damage on their beauties, presence of no suitable areas and venues to perform sports, and the inability of sports culture to take place within the society etc. and that significant differences are present at the 0,05 statistical significance level in the views of the women doing sports and not doing sports in regards to some questions. We can conclude that there are religious, familial, political, physiological, cultural, and spatial factors affecting the participation of women in sportive events.
