Öğe The Approaches of the Contracting Companies to the Housing Landscape in Konya Province(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2019) Ekici, Bahadır; Polat, Ahmet TuğrulToday's residences show highly functional and qualified formations and offer many functions to their users. One of the most important factors that increase the housing function and aesthetics is the housing landscape. In this study; the opinions and experiences of the contractor companies that have implemented housing projects in line with the supply and demands of the users have been determined. A survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 97 house producer company officials affiliated to Konya Contractors Association. In the first part of the questionnaire, the approaches to projecting the housing landscape and the factors that affect the project process are questioned. In the second part, landscape application approaches, various professional groups in the application stages, quality and characteristics of the application are presented. In the third section, the economic and financial evaluations of the residential landscape are made and the values that the landscape adds to the housing through projects and applications are determined. In the last part of the questionnaire, the satisfaction levels of the contractors and their customers were measured based on the experience of the contractors. According to the findings; 89 out of 97 company officials show a positive approach to constructing landscape projects. In addition, 49 company officials stated that the effectiveness of the landscape in housing prices is high and very high.Öğe Comparison of Park Users’ Satisfaction in The Example of Konya and Kirkuk Cities(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2018) Alabbas, Walaa Ghassan; Polat, Ahmet TuğrulParks are built for fulfilling urban person’s longing for the nature, increasingsocial and cultural interactions and enabling human comfort in the open area.Parks are the most important elements of urban open-green area system. Planning and design processes of parks should be carried out carefully. At thispoint, one of the most important issues is to carry out these processes withmultidisciplinary, participatory and multi-denominator togethernesses. Ofcourse, the most important one of these sharers is people who will use the parkthat will be designed and built, in other words, users of that park. In this study;users’ satisfaction rates for security, maintenance, quality, sufficiency anddevelopment speed of urban parks in Konya and Kirkuk have been determined.Based on the data obtained, satisfaction levels of users of Konya and Kirkukurban parks have been compared. According to research findings; it has beendetermined that there are significant differences between participants of Konyaand Kirkuk provinces in terms of security, sufficiency and development speedparameters. Thus, cities that have increased rapidly in population have become points of attraction for people. Over the past century, the world population has begun to gather quickly in urban areas. Cities are transforming into unhealthy living environments with distorted ecological balance, lost green areas and aesthetic qualities. The value of accessible green spaces in urban areas is increasing to the unprecedented levels. The green space system seen as a necessity in the cities have provided the emergence of the "urban landscape" phenomenon. The issue of urban landscape is now a very serious concept. The landscape change is moving along with the level of civilization. Primarily, guidance service should be offered for more efficient, comfortable and protective areas. An interdisciplinary approach is needed in the creation of urban spaces. In this study, the term of urban landscape was explained and the researches about the contributions of urban landscape to urban life were examined and suggestions were made about the subject.Öğe The examination of the main transportation arteries of Konya in terms of landscape architecture design criteria(2017) Güngör, Sertaç; Polat, Ahmet TuğrulEnsuring comfort of use and security of pedestrians, which are the main users of urban green spaces, and the determination of their needs are important since local authorities are guiding for new pedestrian zone studies in the Konya city. Because of the problems caused by the upper structure, the necessary care is not given in terms of transportation comfort, pedestrian safety, vehicle security, plant design and ergonomic / antropemetric standards. The pedestrian way and refuge landscape designs have an important position and amount among open green areas on the scale of Konya. However, it was identified that the applications conducted were inadequate in terms of aesthetic and functional characteristics and were not suitable for the urban landscape design principles, in general, and the standards of urban afforestation of the streets. In this study, the current situation of 3 main streets of Konya used most intensely was examined in terms of landscape design criteria and some suggestions were made by attempting to identify the improvement works that should be performed by the public authorities.Öğe Gençlik parkında kullanılan açık alan heykellerine yönelik park kullanıcılarının görsel algıları(2012) Polat, Ahmet Tuğrul; Öztürk, Banu Kurtaslan; Peker, EsraKentlerimizde açık hava rekreasyonel etkinliklerine olanak sağlayan en önemli alanlar kent parklarıdır. Kent parklarının görsel kalitesinin yükseltilmesi kentsel kalite üzerine olumlu etkiler sağlamaktadır. Kent parkı tasarımlarında kullanılan açık alan heykellerinin sanatsal ve teknik özellikleri yanında park kullanıcılarının görsel algıları ve tercihleri önem arz etmektedir. Araştırmanın amacı, park kullanıcıları aracılığı ile kent parklarında yer verilen heykellerin görsel kalitesini ölçmek ve görsel peyzaj göstergeleri (ilginç olma, uyum, karmaşıklık, anlamlılık ve gizem) ile görsel kalite arasında olan ilişkileri ortaya çıkarmaktır. Bu amaçla araştırma kapsamında Ankara ili sınırları içerisinde yer alan Gençlik Parkından yer alan altı adet heykel değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; park kullanıcılarının heykelleri görsel açıdan beğendikleri saptanmıştır. Heykellerin görsel kalitesi ile bazı peyzaj göstergeleri (ilginç olma, gizem ve uyum) arasında istatistiksel açıdan önemli ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir. Geniş bir bakış açısıyla, eğlenme ve dinlenme için gerçekleştirilen turizm etkinlikleri genellikle ?Kitle Turizmi? olarak tanımlanır. Son yıllarda kitle turizmine alternatif olarak ortaya çıkan turizm şekilleri de ?Alternatif Turizm? olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Alternatif turizm biçimi olarak ekoturizm, 1980'li yıllarda ortaya çıkmış ve turizm endüstrisinin en hızlı büyüyen alt sektörü haline gelmiştir. Ekoturizm özellikle doğal ve kültürel alanlara yönelik yapılan bir etkinliktir. Katılımcılara bilgi veren deneyimler sağlarken, yerel halkların sosyo-ekonomik refahını geliştirir, doğal ve kültürel alanların korunması için ekonomik faydalar sağlar. Karapınar İlçesi ve yakın çevresi el değmemiş doğal özellikleri ve kültürel yapısı ile ekoturizm için önemli bir potansiyel sergilemektedir. Çalışmada; bu mevcut potansiyelin, doğal ve kültürel çevreye zarar vermeyecek ve ekonomik faydalar üretebilecek bir ekoturizm planlaması ile turizm sektörüne kazandırılması amaçlanmıştır. Karapınar İlçesi ve yakın çevresinin bazı ekoturizm etkinliklerine uygunluğu Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri, yerinde gözlem ve anket çalışmaları yardımıyla araştırılmıştır. Kent parkları rekreasyonel, estetik, eğitsel ve ekolojik amaçlarla oluşturulmuş kamuya açık yeşil alanlardır. Since Japanese gardens are created in many countries, many garden designers and garden users are curious about the main principles that influence the creation of these gardens. The objective of this research was to evaluate the adequacy of the Japanese garden in Konya in Turkey through application of the principles of the Japanese garden design. According to the research, the created garden in Turkey may represent a good example of Japanese gardens. The results obtained by this study may be taken as guiding principles for the creation of thematic Japanese gardens in the world.Öğe User Awareness for the Benefits of Urban Parks: Ankara City Case(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2019) Kılıç, Sema Melike; Polat, Ahmet TuğrulIn today’s world, people living in the city face difficulties in coping with stress, anxiety and fatigue. The individuals are in the need of being in touch with the nature and relieving stress and pressure in order to get away from these emotions. The parks which are one of the remedial opportunities for the individuals in their living places in terms of spiritual and physical aspects have a positive impact on the life quality of these individuals. In the contemporary societies, the existing open spaces and new designing spaces are regulated in accordance with the requirements of the age and the society given. In this regard, while urban parks, which are one of the important factors of urban landscape, are presented to the user service, it is significant to ensure balance the relationship between environment and human in order to increase the benefits obtained from these parks. The experts and institutions involved in the planning, design and management of such parks possess certain knowledge of these benefits. However, the level of knowledge and awareness of urban population or park users are not clear. In this study, in the case of Ankara city, it was researched how much the park users have knowledge of the economic, ecological, social and physical benefits of urban parks. One-on-one interviews with make a survey were conducted with 384 urban park users. According to the findings, 47.2% of the participants stated that they do not have general information about the benefits of urban parks, 31.8% of them that they had knowledge, and 20.8% said that they are not interested. The participants stated that urban parks were effective in cleaning the polluted air (37.5%), lowering the urban temperature (33.3%) and increasing the relative air humidity (31.3%). Based on these findings, suggestions were made to the researches, professional disciplines and public institutions.Öğe Using Geographical Information Systems in Determination of Production Areas of Ornamental Plants Konya, Turkey(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2019) Karakayacı, Zuhal; Polat, Ahmet Tuğrul; Çelik, Yusuf; Eşitken, AhmetThe increase of dependency of people in nature, due to the gradual increase of population at cities and the effect of life conditions, causes an increase in demand for green areas and ornamental plants. This increase of demand had provided an economic sector dimension to cultivation of ornamental plants. This study had been realized in order to determine suitable areas for cultivation of ornamental plants in the province of Konya which is a significant agriculture potential of Turkey and which has an ecology suitable for cultivation of many agricultural products. In the determination of these suitable areas, Geographical Information Systems having many functions such as location determination, data storage, data analysis and spatial analysis had been used. Climate, topography and soil features required for cultivation of ornamental plants had been obtained in map environment for the research area, and the analyses required for determination of suitable areas had been made in ArcGIS module. As the result of the analyses, it had been determined that the south-east and south-west areas of the province of Konya were suitable or conditionally suitable areas for cultivation of ornamental plants. These areas will be assessed considering their proximity to market and the socio-economic features of the current producer potential, and establishment of ornamental plants cultivation facilities at the most suitable area will provide significant contributions for the province of Konya in economic, social and environmental aspects.
