Öğe The effects of additional glycerol in different feed form on dairy cows(Veteriner Fakultesi Dergisi, 2012) Coşkun, Behiç; İnal, Fatma; Gürbüz, Emel; Polat, Esat Sami; Alataş, Mustafa SelçukThis research was conducted to determine the impact of diet supplementation with glycerol in form of mash or pelleted feed on milk yield, milk composition, live weight and changes in body condition scoring and the effect of on blood plasma glucose, nonesterified fatty acids (NEFA) and ?-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA) concentrations of dairy cows. In middle lactation stage, Holstein dairy cows (n = 94) were divided into three main groups: (1) control (n = 40); (2) mash concentrated feed+ glycerol group (n = 27); and (3) pelleted concentrated feed + glycerol (n = 27). Glycerol is added into concentrated feed at the rate of 5%. The study was lasted 69 d. There was not a significant difference among groups in terms of milk yield, body weight and plasma glucose, NEFA and BHBA concentrations. In the last day of study, milk solid non fat (SNF) were higher and milk urea-N content were lower in pelleted feed+ glycerol group (P<0.05).Öğe The Effects of Various Levels of Boron Supplementation on the Performance and Some Plasma Mineral and Metabolites of Wethers(MEDWELL ONLINE, 2012) Kurtoglu, Varol; Kurtoglu, Firuze; Polat, Esat Sami; Gurbuz, EmelIn this study, the effects of various levels (0, 15, 30, 45 ppm) of Boron (B) supplementation to the wethers diet on performance parameters such as body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption, feed convertion ratio and serum Ca, P, Mg, glucose, ALP, triglyceride, total cholesterol, blood urea nitrogen, albumin and total protein levels were investigated. As animal material, a total of 32 merino male wethers 8 months age were used. These animals were divided 4 groups consisting 8 animals in each. Animals were housed and fed in individual cage. Before the experiment all animals were weighed and were grouped in equal body weight mean. This trial was made in University of Selcuk, Veterinary Faculty Experimental Farm and was lasted at 56 days. As a boron source, sodium borate was added to the diets. Boron was not supplemented to the diets of control while trial groups (group 2-4) included 15, 30 and 45 ppm B, respectively. Body weight datas were obtained on 14, 28, 42 and 56 days. Ca, Mg, P, glucose, ALP, triglyceride, total cholesterol, blood urea nitrogen, albumin and total protein were determined by spectrophotometer in blood samples obtained by vena jugularis on the 1, 28 and 56 days of the trial. Boron supplementation were increased on body weight gain and feed convertion ratio on some periods (p < 0.05). Boron additions also significantly affected the serum Ca, Mg and ALP values. In conclusion, boron might be have beneficial effects on performances and some blood parameters of wethers.Öğe Farklı saflıktaki gliserolün kuzularda besi performansı üzerine etkisi(2010) Coşkun, Behiç; Polat, Esat Sami; Gürbüz, Emel; İnal, FatmaCoşkun B, Polat ES, Gürbüz E, İnal F. Farklı saflıktaki gliserolün kuzularda besi performansı üzerine etkisi. Eurasian J Vet Sci, 2010, 26, 2, 75-79 Amaç: Çalışma, farklı üretim metotları ile farklı saflıklarda elde edilen gliserolün kuzu besisinde kullanılmasının besi performansı üzerine etkilerini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmada 32 baş yaklaşık 5 aylık yaşta Kangal Akkaramanı erkek kuzu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada kontrol grubu, saf gliserol verilen grup, iki farklı saflıkta ham gliserol (% 4.14 ve % 9.80 metanol) verilen gruplar olmak üzere her biri 8 kuzudan oluşan 4 grup oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma bir hafta alıştırma ve 10 haftası deneme olmak üzere toplam 11 hafta sürdürülmüştür. Bulgular: Çalışmada gruplar arasında kuzuların canlı ağırlıkları bakımından farklılık gözlenmemiştir (p0.05). Günlük canlı ağırlık artışları karşılaştırıldığında ise sadece 56- 70. günlerde ham gliserol verilen gruplarda artış önemli bulunmuştur (p0.05). Gruplar arasında toplam yem tüketimlerinde farklılık bulunmazken, konsantre ve kaba yemden yararlanma oranı 56-70. günlerde ham gliserol verilen gruplarda daha iyi bulunmuştur(p0.05). Öneri: Ekonomik olması halinde kuzu rasyonlarına %2.5’a kadar gliserol katılabileceği, daha fazla kullanım imkanlarının da araştırılabileceği önerilebilir.
