F.; Kus, M.; Simsir, N.; Safak, H.; Sahin, M.; Yenel, E.The current-voltage characteristics of Au/perylene-monoimide (PMI)/n-Si Schottky device have been investigated at a wide temperature range between 75 and 300 K in detail. The measured current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of the device show a good rectification behavior at all temperatures. The electronic parameters such as the ideality factor and the barrier height are determined from the experimental data using standard current-voltage analysis method and also temperature dependence of these parameters is analyzed. In addition to the standard analysis, using the Cheung and Cheung method, the series resistance and some other electrical properties are calculated for the device, and a good agreement is obtained between relevant diode parameters. It was observed that Au/PMI/n-Si Schottky diodes exhibit space charge limited (SCL) conduction at all temperatures. Therefore, we have analyzed this SCL current mechanism in more detail. From this analysis, several electronic parameters related with the SCL mechanism are determined, and it is found that Poole-Frenkel effect is dominant in reverse bias. S.; Sahin, M.; Serpek, B.The objective of this study is the comparison of the irisin, leptin, and insulin hormone levels of the female and male elite athletes and non-athletes. Elite taekwondo athletes (7 males, 6 females) and university students (8 males, 6 females) between the ages of 16 and 20 years volunteered to participate in this study. In the beginning of the study, the body compositions of the participants were determined and their plasma irisin, leptin, and insulin hormone analyses were determined by the Enzyme-Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay (ELISA) method. After an overnight fast, the blood samples were collected at 8:00 a.m. A two-way ANOVA was performed to examine the effects of gender and training status. There was found no significant main and/or interaction effect of training and gender on the irisin and insulin hormone levels (p>0,05). However, training and gender affected the leptin levels significantly (p<0.05). The leptin levels in females in both athletes and non-athletes were higher than males to significant extent and the leptin levels of both female and male athletes were significantly lower than non-athletes. As a result, it can be said that exercise training status and gender do not affect the levels of irisin and insulin hormones, but they increased the leptin level.Öğe The electric field effects on the binding energies and the nonlinear optical properties of a donor impurity in a spherical quantum dot(AMER INST PHYSICS, 2011) Kirak, M.; Yilmaz, S.; Sahin, M.; Gencaslan, M.In this study, we have investigated the influence of an external electric field on the electronic properties of the ground and excited states and studied the linear and the third-order nonlinear optical properties (i.e., absorption coefficients and refractive indices) in a spherical semiconductor quantum dot of a parabolic confinement with an on-center shallow hydrogenic impurity. In the calculations, a variational procedure was employed within the effective-mass approximation. We found that the binding energies of the ground and excited states, the absorption coefficients, and the refractive index changes of 0s-1p and 1p-2d transitions depend on the applied electric field. The results show that the existence of the electric field has great influence on the optical absorption coefficients and the refractive index changes. Also, we have found that the magnitudes of the absorption coefficient and the refractive index change of the spherical quantum dot increase for transitions between higher levels. The virtual training centre is a good example of the development of innovative practices in the field of vocational education and training, which is One of Leonardo da Vinci General Objectives. The virtual training tool aims to improve the Quality of VET systems and practices by contributing to "Learning to learn", which is one of Lisbon Key Competences. The paper displays how the developed content has been transferred to the virtual environment with visual aids. The paper focuses on the multilingual aspect of the modules within the virtual environment.Öğe The Protective and Therapeutic Effect of Sucralfate on Colon Lesions in Rats(1991) Karahan, O.; Tavli, S.; Tavli, L.; Sahin, M.; Tatkan, Y.; Yol, S.; Bozer, M.[Abstract not Available]Öğe The role of gender and sex steroids on the respond of muscle tissue to hypocalcemia(JOHN WILEY & SONS LTD, 2010) Tekin, S.; Kokcam, S.; Sahin, M.; Ayaz, M.; Acar, F.[Abstract not Available]Öğe The self-consistent calculation of the edge states at quantum Hall effect (QHE) based Mach-Zehnder interferometers (MZI)(ELSEVIER SCIENCE BV, 2008) Siddiki, A.; Kavruk, A. E.; Oeztuerk, T.; Atav, Ue.; Sahin, M.; Hakioglu, T.The spatial distribution of the incompressible edge states (IES) is obtained for a geometry which is topologically equivalent to an electronic Mach-Zehnder interferometer, taking into account the electron-electron interactions within a Hartree type self-consistent model. The magnetic field dependence of these IES is investigated and it is found that an interference pattern may be observed if two IES merge or come very close, near the quantum point contacts. Our calculations demonstrate that, being in a quantized Hall plateau does not guarantee observing the interference behavior. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. A.Three novel ligands, a-pycolyliminoisonitrosoacetophenone ((LH)-H-1 center dot HCl), alpha-pycolylimino-p-methylisonitrosoacetophenone ((LH)-H-2 center dot HCl), and a-pycolylimino-p-chloroisonitrosoacetophenone (LH)-H-3, were synthesized. Their metal complexes with Co(II), Cu(II), and Ni(II) were prepared. The mononuclear complexes of these ligands with Co2+, Cu2+, and Ni2+ ions were obtained in ethanol. The electron eigenenergies and the corresponding wavefunctions have been determined by the variational method under the effective mass approximation. We have investigated the effects of the incident optical intensity, QD radius, and confinement potential on the intersublevel optical absorption coefficients. It is found that the size of the dot and depth of the confinement have a great effect on the linear, the nonlinear, and the total absorption coefficients. Also, the total optical absorption saturation intensity is controlled by the strength of the confinement or the incident optical intensity. (C) 2010 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, WeinheimÖğe Virtual training centre for computer numerical control(CCC PUBL-AGORA UNIV, 2008) Sahin, M.; Yaldiz, S.; Unsacar, F.; Yaldiz, B.; Bilalis, N.; Maravelakis, E.; Antoniadis, A.It is a fact that virtual training has been a scope of interest for vocational training for a very long time. However, it needs more time to be more common in all specific training fields. Focusing on Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Training, new developments in the CNC machinery produce a continuous demand on enhancing the programming and technical capabilities of the involved personnel. Training on CNC should follow similar developments and in particular in their programming capabilities, automation they offer and their technical capabilities. Based on these main objectives a Virtual Training Center (VTC) for CNC has been developed and it is presented in this paper. The VTC is the main result of a multilateral Leonardo Da Vinci project witch aims to promote and reinforce Vocational Training in CNC Machines.
