Öğe Some chemical properties, mineral content and amino acid composition of cowpeas (Vigna sinensis (L.) Savi)(WAGENINGEN ACADEMIC PUBLISHERS, 2016) Harmankaya, Mustafa; Ceyhan, E.; Celik, A. S.; Sert, H.; Kahraman, A.; Özcan, Mehmet MusaChemical properties, mineral content and amino acid composition of three cowpea genotypes (Karagoz, Samandag and Sarikiz) were determined. Almost all investigated characteristics (except for potassium, sulphur, copper, proline, and sarcosine) were revealed to be statistically important. Chemical properties of cowpeas showed that protein ranged from 27.6 to 30.1%, carbohydrate 56.3-60.0%, ash 3.8-4.2%, fat 2.0-2.3% and moisture 5.9-7.2%. The amounts of potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sulphur, magnesium, iron, zinc, manganese and copper were adequate to meet macronutrient and micronutrient demand in human diets. The ratios of 22 amino acids showed that methionine, tryptophan and tyrosine amino acids were limiting components. According to the results, the cowpea genotypes were rich in the essential amino acids and chemical composition.Öğe Wear behavior of different surface treated cam spindles(ELSEVIER SCIENCE SA, 2006) Sert, H.; Can, A.; Arikan, H.; Selcuk, B.; Toprak, H.In this study wear behavior of cam spindles made of five different surface treated nodular cast iron (GGG50) and induction hardened CK45 steels was investigated. In the experiments; PVD-TiN-coated, both borided and PVD-TiN-coated, only hardened, both hardened and PVD-TiN-coated and only borided spherical graphite cast iron and induction hardened CK45 were used. The wear behavior of two type of steel was observed using cam wear mechanism under unlubricated and six different surface treatments. AISI 4140 steel was used for abrasive plate. The boronizing process was realized in a salt bath consisting of borax, boric acid and ferro-silicon at 900 degrees C for 6 h and appropriate boronizing heat treatment was carried out under atmospheric pressure. Borides, e.g. FeB, and Fe2B formed on ductile iron was verified by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the distribution of alloying elements was detected by means of energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) from the surface to the interior. The weight loss amounts were determined as a function of sliding time and sliding velocity. In the result of the experiments; boriding and PVD-TiN coating were successfully applied to GGG50 spherical cast iron. These surface treatments increased the wear resistance of GGG50 material. All the surface roughness and dimensional data related by machining time for all cutting speed. While the machining time, as a function of tool wear caused the surface roughness and dimensional deviation increasing. Tool life depended on surface roughness is achieved for three type of cutting tool. The suitable cutting conditions were appeared, tool type-cutting speed TiAlN coated carbide tools are suitable under the speed of V=200 m/min. TiN coated cutting tools are more suitable than TiAlN coated cutting tool at cutting speed of V=250 m/min. Minimum tool wear is achieved from TiN coated cutting tool at highest speed of cutting V=250 m/min. Cermet cutting tool has the biggest value of wear rate at all speed of cutting from V=100 to 250 m/min. It is achieved ftom the experiments result that, serial machining tests are the best way to investigate the wear behavior, tool life, surface roughness, and dimensional deviation of cutting tools.
