Öğe Vardiyalı Çalışan Hemşirelerde Yorgunluk Düzeyinin İş Yaşam Kalitesi ve Genel Sağlık Durumu ile İlişkisi(Selçuk Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2021) Tulupcu, Sevgi; Ergin, EmineThe study was conducted to determine the relationship between the Fatigue Level of Nurses working in shifts and the quality of work life and the general health status. The study involved 187 nurses working at the Samsun State Hospital. The study was conducted with the participation of 187 nurses working at a public hospital in Samsun city. The Data was collected using the Personal Information Form, the Piper Fatigue Scale (PFS), The Quality of Work Life Scale, and The General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12). Pearson correlation analysis, chi-square, simple linear regression analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis were used in the statistical analysis. According to the results of the study, 80,2% of nurses were women, 72,2% had a bachelor degree, the mean for the year of study was 11,31 ± 8,38, the mean for the working year was 9,67 ± 7,20. The mean score of nurses on the Piper Fatigue Scale is 7,40 ± 1,65, the mean score on the Piper Fatigue Scale behavior/violence sub-dimension is 7,16 ± 1,92, the mean score on the Piper Fatigue Scale affective sub-dimension is 8,13 ± 1,83, the mean score on the sensory sub-dimension is 7,28 ± 1,93 and the mean score on the cognitive/psychological sub-dimension is 7,15 ± 2,00. A statistically significant difference was found between the efficiencies of age, marital status and salary, the working years and the fatigue levels. A weak, negative and statistically significant linear relationship was found between Piper Fatigue Scale and Piper Fatigue Scale sub-dimensions and quality of work life. There is a statistically significant linear relationship between Piper Fatigue Scale and its subdimensions and general health status at a moderate positive level. The cognitive/ psychological subdimension of Piper Fatigue Scale predicts the score of General Health Questionnaire-12 in a statistically significant way. According to the data of this study, the level of fatigue is related to the quality of work life and general health status. Nurses working in shifts have a high level of fatigue, a low quality of life at work, and are at risk of depression. Health policies should be developed to reduce the fatigue level of nurses, and occupational health nurses should take initiatives to protect and improve the health of nurses.
