Öğe GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR KONYA CLOSED BASIN PROJECT(BULGARIAN CARTOGRAPHIC ASSOC, 2012) Ustun, Aydin; Bildirici, I. Oztug; Ustuntas, Taner; Tusat, Ekrem; Ozkan, Ihsan; Eren, Yasar; Ozdemir, AdnanThe main goal of the Konya Closed Basin Project is to investigate land subsidence within the basin. The vertical changes have been investigated through GPS measurements and InSAR images taken at different dates. In order to decide whether the land subsidence is significant for land use in residential and agricultural areas within the basin, a GIS system is necessary. For this purpose GoogleEarth, MapInfo and Generic Mapping Tools (GMT) were chosen as GIS software packages. At first, a preliminary study has been performed using I: 100 000 and 1: 250 000 topographic maps which are scanned and registered. A continuous mosaic of map sheets created from them is overlaid on the terrain in the Google Earth. GPS deformation network was designed over the mosaic map considering land use and hydrogeological properties of the KCB. Other data that the system contains are GPS points, wells, at which water depth is measured, InSAR images, geologic layers created from geological maps, and land use maps created by using NVDI method. The geology maps are digitized in MapInfo. After the completion of data collection, GIS analyses will be undertaken in order to evaluate land subsidence potential of the basin.Öğe Prediction of skid resistance coefficient of cement concrete roads with fuzzy logic(TAYLOR & FRANCIS LTD, 2007) Ustuntas, TanerAfter new developments in the car industry, the car speeds have increased very quickly, and the skid resistance of the roads has become very important from the safety point of view. The main goal of this article is to predict the skid resistance coefficient of cement concrete road surfaces at any speed using the fuzzy logic approach. The definition of skid resistance is made in the beginning. Then, the effects of road surface characteristics, mainly macrotexture and microtexture properties, on the skid resistance behavior of cement concrete road surfaces are explained. After, the data collected from the microtexture of different cement concrete road pavements measured by image processing and the macrotexture of cement concrete road pavements measured by Laser Profilometer are used to analyze skid resistance behavior of all kinds of cement concrete roads. For prediction, the multiple linear regression analysis is applied first, and then the fuzzy logic is used for the prediction of the skid resistance coefficient of cement concrete road surfaces secondly. Finally, it was shown that the fuzzy logic model (FLM) more precisely predicts the skid resistance coefficient of cement concrete road surfaces better than multiple linear regression analysis. It is possible to emphasize that there is a strong relation between cement concrete road surface characteristics mainly macrotexture and microtexture and skid resistance coefficient. The skid resistance coefficient of cement concrete surfaces at any vehicle speed and safety level of road surface can be predicted using the FLM.Öğe Segmentation and determination of grid points of curve points in terrestrial laser scanning data for regular curve surfaces via C-means integrated fuzzy logic approach(ELSEVIER SCI LTD, 2014) Ergun, Bahadir; Sahin, Cumhur; Ustuntas, TanerTerrestrial Laser Scanners (TLS) are used frequently in three dimensional documentation studies and present an alternative method for three dimensional modeling without any deformation of scale. In this study, point cloud data segmentation is used for photogrammetrical image data production from laser scanner data. The segmentation studies suggest several methods for automation of curve surface determination for digital terrain modeling. In this study, fuzzy logic approach has been used for the automatic segmentation of the regular curve surfaces which differ in their depths to the instrument. This type of shapes has been usually observed in the dome surfaces for close range architectural documentation. The model of C-means integrated fuzzy logic approach has been developed with MatLAB 7.0 software. Gauss2mf membership functions algorithm has been tested with original data set. These results were used in photogrammetric 3D modeling process. As the result of the study, testing the results of point cloud data set has been discussed and interpreted with all of its advantages and disadvantages in Section 5. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd.
