    Bi?r Van Kedi?si?nde Bronşi?yoloalveoler Karsi?nom

    Bi?r Van Kedi?si?nde Hepatosellüler Karsi?nom
(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2001 Mart) Yener, Zabid; Keleş, İhsan; Karaca, Mehmet
In this report, hepatocellular carcinoma in a 5-years-old female Van cat was described. Grossly, grayishwhite nodular masses of 0,1-6 cm in diameters were found in the liver, spleen, lung, kidneys, abdomen and under the skin. Microscopically, tumor cells were arranged as solid, cord-like and trabecular pattern. Neoplastic cells usually had polygonal and vesicular nuclei and had multiple mitotic figures. Immunohistochemically some tumor markers such as alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), cytokeratin, smooth muscle actin (SMA), and factor VIII-related antigen (FVIII-Rag) was also studied, and AFP and SMA were found to be positive.

    Bi?tli?s Mezbahasında Kesi?len Keçi?lerde Pnömoni? Olguları Üzeri?nde Patoloji?k ve Bakteri?yoloji?k Çalışmalar
(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2001 Ocak) Yener, Zabid; Gürtürk, Kemal; Gülbahar, Yavuz; Solmaz, Hasan
In this study, pathological and bacteriological examination of pneumonia in Goats slaughtered in Bitlis slaughterhouse were carried out. For this purpose, a total of 1505 lungs were examined and in 74 (4,91%) lungs pneumonia was detected. Histopathologically, pneumonias were classified as follows; verminous pneumonia (43,2%), fibrinous bronchopneumonia (23%), interstitial pneumonia (17,6 %) and catarrhal-purulent bronchopneumonia (16,2%). Bacteriological examinations were performed on forty-two pneumonic lungs (except the verminous pneumonia) and various bacterial agents as pure or mix culture were isolated from 32 (76.2%) cases. These were Pasteurella haemolytica (38.09 %), Mycoplasma spp. (28.57%), Staphylococcus aureus (16.66%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (11.90%). Moraxella spp. (4.76 %) , Bacillus spp. (4.76 %) and Pasteurella multocida (2.38% ). In conclusion, the most common type of pneumonia found in Bitlis region was verminous pneumonia, and bacterial examinations showed Pasteurella haemolytica and Mycoplasma spp. were the most important causal agents in caprine pneumonia.

Merinos Koçlarda Kriptorşizm ve Testis Hipoplazisinin İnsidensi ile Fertiltiye Etkisinin Patolojik ve Androjenik Yönden İncelenmesi
(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 1996) Çiftçi, M. Kemal; Çoyan, Kenan; Güven, Bülent; Yener, Zabid; Karaca, Fikret; Türkütanıt, S. Serap
Total of 5578 male merinos were evaluated for cryptorchidism and testis hypoplasia in HAYMAREN - Konya, KAE- Bandırma. and TIGEM- Altınova, born in 1 993 and 1 994, Polatlı and Karacabey in 1 994. The ineidence of cryptorchidism was 1 0.3 and 8.5% in Haymaren- Konya, 23.2 and 7.1 %in KAE- Bandı rma, 5.7 and 2.9% in Altınova, N/A and 5.6 % in Polatlı, N/A and 8.5% in Karacabey in 1 993 and 1994, respectively. The ineidence of testis hypoplasia was 5.3 and 6.3% in Haymaren- Konya, 5.7% and N/A in KAE- Bandırma, 6.7% and N/A in Altınova in 1993 and 1994, respectively. 67.7 % bilateral and 32.3 % unilateral, of which, 83.2 % was right cryptorchid testes were detected. 69.6 % bilateral and 30.4 % unilateral, of which, 64.7 % left hypoplastic testes were detected.Certain nummer of rams with cryptorchid and hypoplastic testes was selected for plasma levels of testosterone, LH, FSH and spermatologic evaluation. When the rams reached 1 year of age, they were terminated, and the testes were subjected to microscopic and macroscopic evaluations. Tubulus seminiferus contortuses were covered with foetal serteli cells, smail in diameter in cryptorchid testes. Spermatogenesis ceased at spermatid and secondary spermatocyte phases in light and moderate hypoplastic testes, respectively. Bilateral moderate degree hypoplasia was characterised by azoospermia. While plasma testosterone levels were within normal limits orhighly increased, LH levels were highly increased in cryptorchid testes. FSH levels were found to be highly i ncreased in cryptorchid and hypoplastic testes. ln this study, the ineidence of cryptorchidism was found to be high and attributed to the hereditary factors, which was thought that would be decreased by selection. Pathological changes found was not to be detectable until sexual maturity. lt was concluded that the rams must be at least 12 months old in order to detect the hypoplastic testes.

    Sığırlarda Leptospirozi?s Üzeri?nde Kli?ni?k ve Patoloji?k I?ncelemeler
(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2001 Ocak) Yener, Zabid; Keleş, İhsan
in the present study, leptospirosis was diagnosed in a cattle flock aged between 6 months and 2 years in the suburb of the city of Van. Seven animals were reported to have been died during the infection between December 1999 and January 2000. Clinically, icterus, haemoglobinuria, fever, leucocytosis, weight loss and anorexia were observed. Histopathologically, necrotic hepatitis, haemoglobinuric nephrosis, vasculitis, haemorrhagic and catharal pneumonia, catharal enteritis, focal necrosis and hemosiderosis in spleen were seen. Certain diagnosis was based on the determination of leptospiral antigens by immunoperoxidase staining of sections obtained from liver, spleen, and kidney.
