Öğe Artificial Neural Network Modeling of the Spontaneous Combustion Occurring in the Industrial-scale Coal Stockpiles with 10-18 mm Coal Grain Sizes(TAYLOR & FRANCIS INC, 2009) Ozdeniz, A. H.; Yilmaz, N.Companies consuming large amounts of coal should work with coal stocks in order to not face problems due to production delays. The industrial-scale stockpiles formed for the aforementioned reasons cause environmental problems and economic losses for the companies. This study was performed in a coal stock area of a large company in Konya, which uses large amounts of coal in its manufacturing units. The coal stockpile with 5 m width, 10 m length, 3 m height, and having 120 tons of weight was formed in the coal stock area of the company. The inner temperature data of the stockpile was recorded by 17 temperature sensors placed inside the stockpile at certain points. In order to achieve this goal, the electrical signal conversion of temperatures sensed by 17 temperature sensors placed in certain points inside the coal stockpile, the transfer of these electrical signals into computer media by using analog-digital conversion unit after applying necessary filtration and upgrading processes, and the record of these information into a database in particular time intervals are provided. Additionally, the data relating to the air temperature, air humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind velocity, and wind direction that are the parameters affecting the coal stockpile were also recorded. Afterwards, these measurement values were used for training and testing of an artificial neural network model. Comparison of the experimental and artificial neural network results, accuracy rates of training and testing were found to be 99.5% and 99.17%, respectively. It is shown that possible coal stockpile behavior with this artificial neural network model is powerfully estimated.Öğe Bandwidth Modeling of U-slot Rectangular Microstrip Antennas with Artificial Neural Networks(ELECTROMAGNETICS ACAD, 2012) Uzer, M. S.; Uzer, D.; Yilmaz, N.; Gultekin, S. S.In this study, rectangular U-slot microstrip antennas are modeled by an Artificial Neural Network structure and their bandwidth values are calculated with the model. The antenna parameters are taken from in the literature. The experimental results are compared with Artificial Neural Network results. In comparison of the experimental and Artificial Neural Network results, accuracy rates of training and testing were found to be 96.6% and 91.3%, respectively. It is obtained that Artificial Neural Network results are compatible with experimental bandwidth results from the literature. It is shown that possible bandwidth behavior of U-slot rectangular microstrip patch antennas with this Artificial Neural Network model is powerfully estimated.Öğe The Construction of Horadam Numbers in Terms of the Determinant of Tridiagonal Matrices(AMER INST PHYSICS, 2011) Taskara, N.; Uslu, K.; Yazlik, Y.; Yilmaz, N.In this study, by using determinants of tridiagonal matrices, we mainly obtain Horadam numbers with positive and negative indices. Therefore we establish a new generalization for the tridiagonal matrices that represent well known numbers such as Fibonacci, Lucas, Jacobsthal, Jacobsthal-Lucas, Pell and Pell-Lucas numbers.Öğe Effect of U-slot Applications on Circular Microstrip Patches Modeling with Artificial Neural Networks on Impedance Bandwidth(ELECTROMAGNETICS ACAD, 2012) Uzer, D.; Uzer, M. S.; Gultekin, S. S.; Yilmaz, N.In this study, effects of etching U-slot on circular patches on their bandwidths are investigated. The study is carried out by etching U-slots on the present microstrip patches in the literature by simulating them with HFSS. Simulation results are used for training and testing of an Artificial Neural Network model for different microstrip patches' bandwidth predictions. The obtained simulation results are compared with Artificial Neural Network results. In comparison of the simulation and Artificial Neural Network results, accuracy rates of training and testing were found as 93.28% and 94.19%, respectively. It is obtained that by etching U-slot, the bandwidths can be enhanced for the present circular microstrip patches. It is shown that possible the bandwidth behavior of U-slot circular microstrip disc antenna with this Artificial Neural Network model is powerfully estimated.Öğe The Generalized (s, t)-Sequence and its Matrix Sequence(AMER INST PHYSICS, 2011) Yazlik, Y.; Taskara, N.; Uslu, K.; Yilmaz, N.In this study, we first define a new sequence in which it generalizes (s, t)-Fibonacci and (s, t)-Lucas sequences at the same time. After that, by using it, we establish generalized (s, t)-matrix sequences. Finally we present some important relationships among this new generalization, (s, t)-Fibonacci and (s, t)-Lucas sequences and their matrix sequences.Öğe Malignancy risk in systemic Lupus Erythematosus patients treated with cyclophosphamide(CLINICAL & EXPER RHEUMATOLOGY, 2015) Yilmaz, N.; Emmungil, H.; Gucenmez, S.; Ozen, G.; Yildiz, F.; Balkarli, A.; Kimyon, G.[Abstract not Available]Öğe MALIGNANCY RISK IS INCREASED IN PATIENTS WITH SYSTEMIC SCLEROSIS(BMJ PUBLISHING GROUP, 2013) Kasifoglu, T.; Bilge, N. S. Yasar; Yildiz, F.; Ozen, G.; Pehlivan, Y.; Yilmaz, N.; Tarhan, F.[Abstract not Available]Öğe Monitoring and ANN modeling of coal stockpile behavior under different atmospheric conditions(TAYLOR & FRANCIS INC, 2008) Ozdeniz, A. H.; Ozbay, Y.; Yilmaz, N.; Sensogut, C.In this study, an industrial-sized stockpile of 5 m width, 4 m height, and 10 m length was built in a coal stock area to investigate coal stockpile behavior under different atmospheric conditions. The effective parameters on the coal stockpile that were time, weather temperature, atmospheric pressure, air humidity, velocity, and direction of wind values were automatically measured by means of a computer-aided measurement system to obtain Artificial Neural Network (ANN) input data. The coal stockpiles, which should be continuously observed, are capable of spontaneous combustion and then causing serious economical losses due to the mentioned parameters. Afterwards, these measurement values were used for training and testing of the ANN model. Comparison of the experimental and ANN results, accuracy rates of training, and testing were found as 98.6% and 98.7%, respectively. It is shown that possible coal stockpile behavior with this ANN model is powerfully estimated.Öğe On the Binomial Sums of k-Fibonacci and k-Lucas sequences(AMER INST PHYSICS, 2011) Yilmaz, N.; Taskara, N.; Uslu, K.; Yazlik, Y.The main purpose of this paper is to establish some new properties of k-Fibonacci and k-Lucas numbers in terms of binomial sums. By that, we can obtain these special numbers in a new and direct way. Moreover, some connections between k-Fibonacci and k-Lucas numbers are revealed to get a more strong result.Öğe Risk factors for malignancy in systemic sclerosis patients(SPRINGER LONDON LTD, 2016) Kasifoglu, T.; Bilge, S. Yasar; Yildiz, F.; Ozen, G.; Pehlivan, Y.; Yilmaz, N.; Tarhan, F.Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is an autoimmune connective tissue disease with multisystem involvement. An increased incidence of cancer in SSc patients compared with the general population has been reported in several reports. Our aims in this study were to determine the most common malignancies and to investigate the possible risk factors for the development of malignancy in patients with SSc. Three hundred forty SSc patients from 13 centers were included to the study. Data of the patients were obtained by evaluating their medical records retrospectively. A total of 340 patients with SSc were evaluated. Twenty-five of the patients had 19 different types of malignancy. Bladder cancer was the most common type of cancer with four patients and was followed by breast cancer with three patients, and cervix cancer and ovarian cancer with two patients each. Other types of cancers such as squamous cell skin cancer, adenocancer with an unknown origin, multiple myeloma, chronic myeloid leukemia, papillary thyroid cancer, larynx cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, follicular type non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), endometrium cancer, colon cancer, uterus cancer, neuroendocrine tumor, glioblastoma multiforme, and soft tissue sarcoma were diagnosed in one patient each. The only cancer type that showed an association with cyclophosphamide dose was bladder carcinoma. Other malignancies did not show a correlation with age, sex, smoking, type and duration of the disease, autoantibodies, organ involvement, and dose and duration of cyclophosphamide therapy. Cancer may develop in any organ in patients with SSc. Continuous screening of the patients during a follow-up period is necessary for the early detection of the tumor development.
