Öğe Antibacterial and Sinergistic Effects of Green and Black Tea (Camellia sinensis) Extracts whit Some Antibiotics(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2013) Erbil, Nurcan; Digrak, MetinIn this study, antimicrobial effects of the watered extracts obtained from tea leaves (C. sinensis) on Staphylococcus species and their synergistic effects with some bacteria were examined. The antibiotics Streptomycine, Cephalosphorine, Amphiciline and Peniciline G and the bacteria species Staphylococcus sciuri, S. auricularis, S. epidermidis, S. hominis, S. haemoliticus ve S. xylosus were used in the study. As a result of the study, it was observed that Cephalosporine had no antimicrobial effect on S. auricularis but it formed 20 mm and 18 mm inhibition zones with green and black tea extracts respectively (MIC: Cephalosporine <30 µg/ml, green tea 0.78 mg/ml, black tea 0.84 mg/ml). Moreover, it was observed that Streptomycine inhibited the growth of S. epidermidis with 35 mm inhibition zone but it did the same thing with 50 mm inhibition zone when it was used together with black tea (MIC: Streptomycine 5 µg/ml, green and black tea 0.84 mg/ml). In addition it was observed that the other antibiotics used in the study had various synergistic effects with green and black tea extracts. The samples containing total amount of 65 µl substance had more effective antimicrobial and synergistic effect when compared to that of containing 30 µl of substance.Öğe Determination of Metabolic and Antimicrobial Activities of Lactobacillus plantarum Strains Isolated from Traditional Fermented Pickles(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2015) Alan, Yusuf; Erbil, Nurcan; Digrak, MetinLactobacillus species are more effective on the maturation of pickles. In this study, acid and H2O2 rates which were made by 22 strains of Lactobacillus plantarum izolated from tradional pickles were 0.48-0.87% and 0.77-2.68 µg mL-1. General inhibition activities of strains and inhibition activities of bacteriocin and/or materials such like bacteriocin were determined by agar diffusion method, against test microorganisms. The plasmid profiles of Lactobacillus plantarum were determined. It was observed that Lactobacillus plantarum strains were produced bacteriocin or inhibitor material such like bacteriocin and these materials affected to some test microorganisms. Additionally it was determined that L. plantarum strains produced various metabolic products at different rates and they showed inhibitory affect at different rates against test microorganisms.Öğe In vivo antimicrobial activity of Rheum ribes ekstracts obtained from various plant parts from Turkey(Selçuk Üniversitesi, 2012) Alan, Yusuf; Erbil, Nurcan; Digrak, MetinDifferent parts of Rheum ribes (ışgın) used as medicinal herb in several place of Turkey were extracted with five different organic solvent such as chlorophorm, hexane, acetone, ethanol, and methanol. Antimicrobial activities of these extracts were tested against test microorganisms. Consequently none of extract of leaf did not effect test microorganisms. Methanol and ethanol extracts obtained from root, stalk, and seed of Rheum ribes exhibited antimicrobial activity against test microorganisms at various rate. Furthermore, it was determinated that the most sensitive microosganisms among test microorganisms were Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633 and Enterobacter aerogenes ATCC 13048.
