This thesis delves into Mawlana's Divan-e Shams, a collection of his poetic compositions that are a spiritual reflection of his inner thoughts and brimming with matters related to the inner world. Initially, it examines astronomical terminologies and their tools, followed by an exploration of their literary use, including the metaphors of happiness and misfortune associated with the seven planets existing in the celestial spheres. It delves into their historical significance and the perceived influence each of these celestial bodies had in ancient times, intertwined with Mawlana's perspective on the connections between each dome of the seven heavens and the stars, alongside examples from Divan-e Shams, analyzed and scrutinized. Mawlana artfully expresses these terminologies and themes metaphorically, establishing a noteworthy link between these celestial entities and humanity's paths toward liberation from worldly darkness.
