Öğe Predictive power of self-efficacies of toddlers mothers for parenting task in childrens psychosocial development(SILA SCIENCE, 2012) Saltali, Neslihan Durmusoglu; Arslan, EmelThe aim of this study is to determine whether parenting self-efficacies of mothers of toddlers significantly predict their children's psycho-social developments. The sample of the study is composed of 245 mothers of toddlers in different cities all over Turkey. In the study, the Self Efficacy for Parenting Tasks Index-Toddler Scale which was used to measure parenting tasks self-efficacy of mothers of toddlers. In the assessment of children's psychosocial development, psychosocial development sub-dimension of Brief Infant-Toddler Social and Emotional Assessment Scale was used. In the analysis of the study data, Pearson moments multiplication correlation coefficient and simple linear regression analysis were used. The results of the study revealed that there was a positive significant relation between mothers' parenting self-efficacies and children's psychosocial developments and that mothers' parenting self-efficacy scores significantly predict children's psychosocial development scores.Öğe Relation between mothers indifference negligent attitudes and social behaviors of six year olds(SILA SCIENCE, 2012) Arslan, Emel; Saltali, Neslihan Durmusoglu; Arslan, CoskunThis study was undertaken to examine the relation between mother's negligent attitudes towards their children and social behaviors of six year olds. The study group is composed of 321 children attending pre-school institutions and their mothers. In the study, Pre-school Social Behavior Scale-Teacher Form [1] which was administrated to the teachers of six year olds to collect data about their social behaviors, and negligence/indifference sub-dimension of Mother-Child Relationship-Mother Form [2] which was administrated to mothers to determine their indifferent/negligent attitudes towards their children. To analyze the data of the study, Pearson moment's multiplication linear correlation coefficient and simple linear regression analysis method were used. The results of the study revealed that mothers' negligent behaviors are positively related with children's physical aggressiveness, relational aggressiveness and depressive emotions, and that they are negatively related with children's positive social relation behaviors, and mothers' ignorant behaviors significantly predict children's social behaviors.
