Özet
Temel olarak, astronot kıyafeti küçük ama eksiksiz bir uzay aracıdır. Bir astronotun
uzaydaki tüm işlevlerini çok daha kısa sürede ve temel korumalarla sağlamalıdır. Ancak pek
çok birincil ve ikincil işlev gereksinimleri olduğu için, astronot kıyafeti tasarımları 1950'lerin
sonlarında hız kazanmıştır.
Hem ABD hem de Rusya'daki Astronot Kıyafetleri, 1930'lardan beri geliştirilen yüksek
irtifa basınçlı kıyafetlerin temellerini uyarlayarak ve takip ederek tasarlanmıştır. 1960'tan
2022'ye kadar 62 yıl boyunca astronot kıyafeti tasarımlarında birçok evrim ve devrim olmuştur.
Bununla birlikte, estetik özelliklerle tasarlanan astronot kıyafeti SpaceX' in Demo-2’si ve
Boeing'in Starliner’i olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, Demo-2 mürettebat üyeleri ve gelecekteki
Straliner uçuşları için Astronot kıyafetlerinde stil ve tasarım estetiğine sistematik olarak
odaklanılarak, gelişmeler gözden geçirilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır.
Çalışmanın birinci bölümünü içindekiler ve giriş kısmı oluşturmaktadır. İkinci
Bölümde; Astronot kıyafetlerinin işlevi ve performans gereksinimleri, tarihsel ve tasarımsal
değişikleri birincil ve ikincil işlev gereksinimleri ile birlikte incelenip, açıklanmaya
çalışılmıştır. Aynı zamanda astronot kıyafetlerinin tasarım düzenleri referans resim örnekleriyle
spekülatif moda başlığı altında; Rusya, ABD ve Çin ülkelerindeki astronot kıyafetleri
incelenmiştir.
Üçüncü Bölümü materyal ve yöntem kısmı oluşturmaktadır. Spekülatif moda
kapsamında astronot kıyafetlerinin incelenerek işlevsel ve estetik ihtiyaçlar dahilinde tasarım
önerileri geliştirilen araştırma nitel bir araştırmadır. Uluslararası çapta uzay çalışmaları
gerçekleştiren ülkelerin kullandığı astronot kıyafetleri nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum
çalışması kapsamında incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın evrenini ABD, Rusya ve Çin’de yapılan
uzay çalışmaları kapsamında kullanılan kıyafetler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada amaçlı
örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmada da ölçüt
olarak uluslararası düzeyde uzay çalışmaları kapsamında kullanılan astronot kıyafetleridir. Bu
doğrultuda örneklem dahilinde ABD (11), Rusya (7) ve Çin (2) tarafından uzay çalışmalarında
kullanılan 20 adet astronot kıyafetleri yer almaktadır. Araştırma kapsamına dahil edilen
ülkelerden Rusya ve Çin’deki tüm astronot kıyafetlerine ulaşılmıştır, ancak Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nde 13 adet astronot kıyafeti yer almakla birlikte ulaşılabilen 11 adet, toplamda 20
adet kıyafet örnekleme dahil edilmiştir. Ayrıntılı dağılım Tablo-11 de verilmiştir.
Dördüncü bölüm bulgular kısmında; Giysi Analiz Formu, Belirtke Tabloları ve tasarım
önerilerinden oluşmaktadır. “Giysi Analiz Form’unda; fotoğraf ve resimler, kıyafet model
resmi (teknik çizimi) yerleştirilmiştir. Kıyafetlerin sınıfı ve tipi, kıyafetleri tamamlayan gerekli
aksesuar ve kıyafetlerin modeli ile ilgili teknik bilgiler ve hangi projede gerçekleştirildiği,
fotoğraf ve kıyafetlere ait ek bilgilere yer verilerek, 1960-2022 tarihleri arasında tasarlanan
kıyafetlerin benzer ve farklı özellikleri yorumlanmıştır.
Belirtke tablolarında ise renk, yaka, kol, kapama ve cep bilgilerine yer verilerek bu
tablolardan hareketle genel yorumlara ve çıkarımlara varılmıştır. Model tasarımlarının analizi
hazırlanan belirtke tabloları doğrultusunda yapılmıştır.
Tasarım önerileri bölümünde; tasarımların teknik özellikleri kapsamında bir ar-ge
çalışması yapılmadan, öngörülebilir gelecek için fütüristik bakış açısıyla spekülatif moda
kapsamında iki boyutlu 25 adet astronot kıyafet tasarımları yapılmıştır. Bu tasarımların her biri
için moodboardlar hazırlanmıştır. Her bir astronot kıyafet tasarımı; tasarım hikayesi ve
özellikleri bakımından açıklanmıştır. Kıyafet tasarımlarının çiziminde Adobe İllüstratör, Adobe
Photoshop, SketchBook ve CorelDRAW uygulamaları kullanılmıştır. Bu alandaki yeni
önermeler/tasarımlar, deneysel kıyafet, yani spekülatif moda formatında yapılmıştır.
Basically, the astronaut suit is a small but complete spacecraft. It should provide all the functions of an astronaut in space in a much shorter time and with basic protections. But because there were so many primary and secondary function requirements, astronaut suit designs gained momentum in the late 1950s. Astronaut Suits in both the USA and Russia were designed by adapting and following the basics of high-altitude pressure suits developed since the 1930s. There have been many evolutions and revolutions in astronaut suit designs over the 62 years from 1960 to 2022. However, the astronaut suit designed with aesthetic features has been SpaceX's Demo-2 and Boeing's Starliner. In this study, developments in Astronaut suits for Demo-2 crew members and future Straliner flights are reviewed and interpreted, with a systematic focus on style and design aesthetics. The first part of the study consists of the contents and the introduction. In the second part; The function and performance requirements of astronaut suits, their historical and design changes together with the primary and secondary function requirements have been examined and tried to be explained. At the same time, the design layouts of astronaut outfits are under the heading of speculative fashion with reference picture examples; Astronaut suits in Russia, USA and China were examined. The third part is the material and method part. It is a qualitative research in which design proposals are developed within the scope of speculative fashion by examining astronaut clothes within the scope of functional and aesthetic needs. The astronaut suits used by the countries that carry out space studies on an international scale were examined within the scope of the case study, one of the qualitative research designs. The universe of this study consists of the clothes used within the scope of space studies in the USA, Russia and China. In the study, criterion sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used. In this research, astronaut suits are used as a criterion for space studies at the international level. In this direction, there are 20 astronaut suits used in space studies by the USA (11), Russia (7) and China (2) in the sample. All astronaut outfits in Russia and China were reached from the countries included in the research, however, although there are 13 astronaut outfits in the United States, 11 of which can be reached, a total of 20 outfits were included in the sample. Detailed distribution is given in Table-12. In the fourth part of the findings; It consists of Clothing Analysis Form, Specification Tables and design suggestions. In the “Clothing Analysis Form; photographs and pictures, clothes model picture (technical drawing) are placed. Similar and different features of the clothes designed between 1960-2022 were interpreted by giving information about the class and type of the clothes, the necessary accessories and the model of the clothes that complement the clothes, the project in which it was carried out, the photographs and additional information about the clothes. Color, collar, sleeve, closure and pocket information are included in the Belitke tables, and general comments and inferences are reached based on these tables. Analysis of model designs was made in accordance with the prepared specification tables. Design proposals section; 25 two-dimensional astronaut clothing designs were made within the scope of speculative fashion with a futuristic perspective for the foreseeable future, without making an R&D study within the scope of the technical features of the designs. Moodboards were prepared for each of these designs. Each astronaut suit design; Includes design stories and features. Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, SketchBook and CorelDRAW applications were used in the drawing of clothing designs.
