dc.description.abstractİslam bilim tarihi özellikle Abbasiler dönemi açısından zengin bir geçmişe sahiptir. Halife Mansur ile başlayıp Hârûnürreşîd ile devam eden tercüme faaliyetleri Halife Me'mûn döneminde zirveye ulaşmış ve telif eserler verilmeye başlanmıştır. Tercüme faaliyetlerinin bu kadar kısa süre içinde meyve verip telif eserler ortaya konması bilim tarihinde sık görülen bir olay değildir. Zira telif eserler verilmesi tercüme ile gelen bilgilerin, dillerin, kavramların ve düşünce yapısının tamamen anlaşılarak sindirilmesine bağlıdır. Halife Me'mûn dönemindeki bu hızlı gelişmelerin sebebini, sadece tercüme faaliyetleri ve Beytü'l-Hikme'nin varlığı ile açıklamak yeterli olmayacaktır. Nitekim bu hareket Halifenin ilmi ve entelektüel kişiliğinin getirisi olan destek ve çalışmaları ile sürdürülebilmiştir. Böyle bir ortamın ve ilmî faaliyetlerdeki ivmenin açıklanması için dönemi ilmî manada öncesi ve sonrasını göz önünde bulundurarak incelemek gerekmektedir. Gelişmelerin hızı ne yazık ki Halife Me'mûn döneminin siyasi olayları gölgesinde kalmış ve yeterince incelenmemiş olduğundan bu çalışmanın amacı, Halife Me'mûn'un ilmi/entelektüel kişiliğine bilimsel açıdan anlayış kazandıracak bir bakış açısı sunmaktadır.
dc.description.abstractThe history of Islamic science has a rich past, especially in terms of the Abbasid period. Translation activities, which began with Caliph Mansur and continued with Harun al-Rashid, reached their peak during the reign of Caliph Ma'mun, and copyrighted works began to be produced. It is not a common occurrence in the history of science for translation activities to bear fruit in such a short time and to produce copyrighted works. Because the production of copyrighted works depends on the complete understanding and digestion of the information, languages, concepts and thought structure that come with translation. It will not be sufficient to explain the reason for these rapid developments during the period of Caliph Ma'mun only with translation activities and the existence of the House of Wisdom. In fact, this movement was sustained with the support and work that came from the Caliph's scientific and intellectual personality. In order to explain such an environment and the momentum in scientific activities, it is necessary to examine the period in a scientific sense by taking into account the before and after. Since the speed of developments has unfortunately been overshadowed by the political events of the Caliph Ma'mun's period and has not been sufficiently studied, the aim of this study is to provide a perspective that will provide scientific understanding of the scientific/intellectual personality of Caliph Ma'mun.
