Özet
Toplumsal hareketler sosyal adaletsizliğe karşı bir duruş sergileyerek eşitlik, adalet, kendi inançları ile hayatını düzenleme ve yönetime katılma talebinde bulunmuşlardır. Sanayi sonrası toplumda ise yeni toplumsal hareketler ile birlikte özerklik, özgürleşme, tanınma ve etkili katılım talebi önem kazanmıştır. Bu çerçevede yeni toplumsal hareketler emek-sermaye çelişkisinden kaynaklanmayan kimlik, etnisite, azınlık, çevre, barış ve enerji konularını gündemine almış, yaşam koşulları ile yaşam kalitesinin iyileştirilmesine odaklanmış ve yaşama ilişkin her alanda daha fazlasını talep ederek "talepkâr" bir hareket olarak ortaya çıkmışlardır. Hareketlerde başlıca kimlik ve demokrasi talebiyle birlikte daha temiz hava, daha az gürültü kirliliği ile daha fazla yeşil alan gibi gündelik yaşamın içinden üretilen ayrıcalıklı talepler ortaya çıkmıştır. 1990'lı yıllarla birlikte birbirinden farklı amaç ile temadan oluşan ve çeşitli toplumsal hareketlerin bir araya gelmesiyle ortaya çıkan küresel toplumsal hareketlerde ise hareketlerin talepleri küresel bir boyuta taşınmış, farklı talepler "Başka Dünya" kavramında birleşmiş ve taleplerin ifade edilmesinde "Ben Nesli" önem kazanmıştır.
Social movements have risen on the axis of demand for change and equality by exhibiting a stance against social injustice and movements have demanded for mainly equality, justice, participation to administration and managing their own beliefs and lives. In post-industrial society with new social movements autonomy, liberation, recognition and effective participation demand have gained importance. In this framework, new social movements take on the agenda the issues of identity, ethnicity, minority, environment, peace and energy that do not originate from the labor-capital contradiction, not to be satisfied the existing living conditions, focus on improving living conditions and quality and appear as a "demanding" movement by demanding for "much more things in every area related to life". Along with the mainly demand for identity and democracy in the movements, there have also been demands for more clean air, less noise pollution and more green space, which can be produced from everyday life and evaluated as privileged. In the 1990s global social movements that emerged in with different purposes and themes and brought together by various social movements, the demands were moved to a global dimension, the different demands were combined in the concept of "Another World" and "Generation Me" became important in expressing the demands.
