Özet
14 Mayıs 1950, 2 Mayıs 1594 ve 27 Ekim 1957 tarihlerinde yapılan genel seçimler ile
Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi IX., X. ve XI. dönem milletvekillerini belirlenmiştir. Artvin ili
bu seçimlerde Demokrat Parti’den meclise on beş, (toplamda on farklı) milletvekili
gönderilmiştir. Vekillerin dördü doktor, dördü hukuk mezunu olmak ile birlikte biri milli
eğitimde biri de serbest meslek alanında çalışmıştır. Karadeniz bölgesindeki öldürücü
hastalıklar nedeniyle milletvekilleri konuşmalarında sağlık konusuna oldukça önem
vermişlerdir. Artvin’de bu alanda yeterli olmayan sağlık kuruluşları, sağlık memurları, araç ve
ilaçlar için çözüm yolları aramışlardır. Bunların yanı sıra öğretmen ihtiyacının giderilmesi ve
okul sayısının arttırılmasında yapıcı bir yol izlemişlerdir. Bölge ekonomisini canlandırmak ve
vatandaşın ekonomik sıkıntısını gidermek için kanun teklifleri sunarak çiftçiyi güvence altına
almayı amaçlamışlardır. Coğrafyanın dağlık olması ve dönemin şartlarından ötürü var olan
ulaşım sıkıntısı konusunda vatandaşların yaşadığı problemler sık sık hatırlatılmıştır. Demokrat
Parti'nin iktidar dönemi boyunca bu sorunlar devam etmiş, Artvin’e ait meseleler meclis
içerisinde tekrar tekrar gündeme getirilerek çözüme kavuşturulmak istenmiştir.
With the general elections held on 14 May 1950, 2 May 1594 and 27 October 1957, the IXth., Xth, and XIth term deputies of the Turkish Grand National Assembly were determined. In these elections in Artvin province, fifteen deputies (ten different in total) were sent to the parliament from the Democratic Party. Four of the deputies were doctors, four were law graduates, and one worked in national education and one in the field of selfemployment. Due to the deadly diseases in the Black Sea region, the deputies have given great importance to the health issue in their speeches. In Artvin, they have searched for solutions for medical institutions, health officers, vehicles and medicines that are not sufficient in this area. In addition to these, they have followed a constructive way to meet the need for teachers and increase the number of schools. They aimed to secure the farmer by proposing laws to revive the economy of the region and relieve the economic distress of the citizen. The problems experienced by the citizens about the mountainous geography and the transportation problems that existed due to the conditions of the period were frequently reminded. These problems have continued throughout the period of power of the Democratic Party, and issues belonging to Artvin have been repeatedly brought up in the parliament and asked to be resolved.
