Konaklama işletmelerinde Piotroski F skor ve hisse senedi getirisi: Borsa İstanbul’da bir araştırma

Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı Borsa İstanbul Otel ve Lokantalar Sektöründe hisse senetleri işlem gören konaklama işletmelerinin finansal performansını Piotroski F-Skor yöntemiyle analiz etmek ve hesaplanan F-Skorlarının potansiyel hisse senedi getirilerini yansıtma düzeyini değerlendirmektir. Bu kapsamda öncelikle işletmelerin 2018-2022 yıllarındaki karlılık, likidite-borçlanma ve faaliyet etkinliği üzerine toplam dokuz finansal gösterge hesaplanmış ve performansları 0-9 arasında puanlanmış ve ortalamaları alınarak en yüksekten en küçüğe gruplandırılmıştır. Daha sonra işletmelerin 2019-2023 yıllarına ait hisse senedi getirileri hesaplanmış ve işletmelere ait Piotroski-F skorlarının içinde bulunulan ve gecikmeli olarak bir yıl sonraki hisse senedi performansını tahmin gücü değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda konaklama işletmelerinde en başarılı olduğu tespit edilen değişkenin ödenmiş sermayedeki değişim olduğu, buna karşılık, en başarısız olduğu belirlenen değişkenin ise aktif devir hızındaki değişim olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca yüksek F-Skoruna sahip konaklama işletmelerinin hisse senetlerinden oluşan portföyün, daha düşük F-Skoruna sahip işletmelerden oluşan portföylerden hem içinde bulunulan yıl hem de gecikmeli olarak daha iyi performans gösterdiği saptanmıştır. Bu bağlamda Piotroski F-Skorunun konaklama alt sektöründeki hisse senedi yatırım stratejilerinde önemli bir performans tahmin göstergesi olduğu gözlemlenmiştir.
The study aims to analyze the financial performance of accommodation companies trading stocks in the Borsa Istanbul Hotels and Restaurants Sector using the Piotroski F-Score method and assess how well the calculated F-Scores predict potential stock returns. Nine financial indicators covering profitability, liquidity-leverage, and operational efficiency for 2018-2022 were computed and scored from 0 to 9, then grouped by their averages. Subsequently, stock returns for 2019-2023 were calculated, and the predictive power of Piotroski-F scores for current and lagged one-year stock performance was evaluated. The research identified the change in paid-up capital as the most successful variable and the change in asset turnover as the least successful variable among accommodation companies. Additionally, portfolios of stocks from accommodation companies with high F-Scores outperformed those with lower F-Scores, both in the current year and especially in lagged terms. Thus, the Piotroski F-Score emerged as a significant performance predictor in stock investment strategies within the accommodation sub-sector.
