dc.description.abstractMany poets in Eastern literature have used masnavis and many works have been written in this genre. Because of being the most extensively read book of this genre, the Masnavi of Jalal ad-Din Rumi became famous by the genre of masnavi. In this study, a poet who is known to have lived in Ottoman Empire in 15th century under the alias Khalili and his masnavi, Tuhfatu'l-Ushaq is analyzed. Tuhfatu'l-Ushaq is a Persian manuscript book and it is a reply in kind and written in the same style (nazire) to Masnavi of Rumi. The fact that it was written in nazire form can be inferred from the poet's partial and full references of some verses from Masnavi of Rumi. This Persian manuscript, which have many copies in libraries in Turkey, consists of 82 sections and 775 verses. Tuhfatu'l-Ushaq is a Persian manuscript book which describes mystical subjects, similar to Masnavi of Mevlana in general. Among the titles of Tuhfatu'l-Ushaq, kinds of murshids, orders of dhikr, mirroring, parts of tawhid and prophethood can be counted.
