Özet
Nasreddin Hodja is a character in the anecdotes known not only by the Western and the Eastern Turks but also by the whole world. By the Western Turks (Azerbayjan, Turkey, The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Balkans) he is known as a person from Eskisehir (Sivrihisar, Hortu / Nasreddin Hoca) and Konya (Aksehir) and by the Eastern Turks he is known as a person from Buhara (Sirini). While in Western sources, there are some limited information about his mother, father, teachers and level of education, we do not have any information in Eastern sources. In our opinion, Nasreddin Hodja known as the son of Saksict Sarmamat is a mythological character. In our article, the way the anecdotes of Nasreddin Hodja followed during the migration from west to east will be reviewed in terms of various aspects. Moreover, Nasreddin Hodja from Sirini village will be explained in comparison with similar types found in Turkish Culture.
