Uyku
kalitesinin arttırılmasında ve derin uyku süresinin uzatılmasında uyku bandı kullanılmasının önemli
olduğu görülmüştür.
This research was carried out to investigate the sleep quality of Taekwondo Turkish National Team athletes. The study was carried out voluntarily, during the pandemic period, on 8 male national athletes who will represent our country in the Taekwondo branch at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and are in the preparation camp at that time. Participants' sleep quality measurements were measured with a sleep band for three days and without a sleep band for three days with a smart wristband (MIFIT 4). The same training program was applied during the three-day measurements, with and without a sleep band. Sleep scores were determined according to the Pitssburg sleep quality index (PUKI), and their self-perceived sleep durations measured with a smart bracelet were compared. Average age of the athletes was 20.75±1.753 years, average height was 184.00±7.171 cm, and average body weight was 73.38±14.372 kg. The mean HR of the athletes participating in the study was 41.38±1.768 minutes with sleep bands, minimum HR without sleep bands was 41.87±1.959 minutes, mean resting heart rate was 53.75±5.470 minutes, mean HR was 79.00±8.685 minutes, and without using a sleep band, the mean HR The average of deep sleep was 90.12±36.380 minutes, the average of deep sleep was 159.46±38.695 minutes using a sleep band, the average of sleep times was 463.31±57.04 minutes without using a sleep band, and the average of sleep times using a sleep band was It was found to be 506.85±59.678 minutes. The mean perceived sleep duration was 487.50±50.071 minutes, and the total PSQI scores were found to be 6.25±2.375. It was determined that the deep sleep times of the athletes who wore a sleeping band while sleeping were significantly longer than those who did not wear a sleeping band (P<0.05). It was observed that there was no significant difference between the sleep times of the athletes who wore a sleeping band while sleeping, compared to the athletes who did not wear a sleep band (P>0.05). When the sleep duration measured by the clock and the perceived sleep duration of the athletes were compared, it was found that there was no significant difference (P>0.05). As a result, it was understood that the deep sleep times of the athletes wearing the sleep band were longer, and it was concluded that the sleep band did not affect the total sleep time. The importance of using a sleep band in increasing sleep quality and prolonging deep sleep time has been understood.
