Özet
Günümüzde bilişim teknolojilerinde büyük ve hızlı gelişmeler görülmektedir. Özellikle internet, web yazılım ve donanım teknolojilerindeki gelişmeler ve yaygınlaşma daha hızlı ve etkin öğrenme sürecini olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. Yeni teknolojiler günlük yaşamın görüntüsünü ve biçimini değiştirmekle kalmayıp özellikle gelişmiş ülkelerde eğitim ve öğretiminin de yapışım değiştirmeye başlamıştır. Bu noktada üretilen eğitim yazılımları yanında çok sayıda da eğitim reformu alanında uğraş veren kurum ortaya çıkmıştır. Uzun yıllardan beri dünyada ve ülkemizde açık öğretim veya yaygın öğretim adı altında ön lisans ve lisans düzeyinde örgün eğitimin haricinde eğitim verilmektedir. İletişim teknolojisinin gelişmesiyle birlikte yaygın öğretime olan talep de artmıştır. Günümüzde uzaktan eğitimde kullanılan araçların çeşitlenmesi ve güçlenmesi nedeniyle bu öğretim türüne olan ilgi daha da artacaktır. Eğitim-öğretim amaçlı bilginin; iletişim organları, örneğin; Radyo, televizyon, bilgisayar, Internet ve benzeri araçlarla elektronik olarak istenilen mekana ulaştırılmasına uzaktan eğitim denilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, son yıllarda Dünya ve Türkiye'de değişik alanlarda hızla kullanılmaya başlanılan uzaktan eğitim modeli, gelişimi, tarihsel süreci, incelenmiştir. Uzaktan eğitim hakkında çok çeşitli tanımlar vermek mümkündür. Ancak kısaca tanımlanacak olursa uzaktan eğitim; eğitimci ile öğrencilerin eşzamanlı veya eşzamansız olabilen ve mekan gerektirmeksizin gerçekleştirdikleri eğitimdir. Uzaktan eğitim modelinin geleneksel yüz yüze eğitim kadar etkili olup olmadığı birçok eğitmenin tartıştığı bir konudur. Uzaktan eğitim ve geleneksel eğitim yöntemlerinin karşılaştırıldığı araştırmalar bize şunu göstermiştir: uzaktan eğitim için gerekli teknikler eğitimde doğru ve uygun bir şekilde kullanıldığı, öğrenciler arasında iletişim sağlanıldığı takdirde ve öğrencinin değerlendirmesini yapıp eksiklerini tamamlayacak öğretmen mevcut bulunduğu sürece, uzaktan eğitim modeli de en az geleneksel eğitim kadar başarılı ve etkilidir. Bu çalışmada uzaktan eğitime örnek olması açısından bir uzaktan eğitim uygulanması hazırlanmıştır. Hazırlanan bu uygulama örneği Selçuk Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi İstatistik Bölümünde okutulmakta olan İstatistik derslerinin eğitimini, uzaktan eğitim metodu ile verilmesini hedeflemektedir.
Nowadays, great and fast developments in informatics technology are presented. Especially, developments in internet, web programming and hardware technology make them become widespread and all together effects quicker and effective learning process in a positive way. New technologies not only change the type and view of daily life but also change structure of education and learning in developed country. At this point, produced education software takes place with a lot of institution that are mainly occupied for revolution in education field. For long years, aside from one to one education, open education and common education have been served for license and pre-license level in our country and world. Together with enhancement in technology the demand for common education increased. In today, since tools that are used in distance education becomes more powerful and exist in wide variety, the interest for this type of learning will increase. Distance education is described as transferring education-learning aimed knowledge to a required destination by using communication medium and equipment like internet, radio, television and computer. In this study, the distance education that gains speed in usage in different field in the world and Turkey is investigated with the aspect of model, development and historical duration. It's possible to make variety of description about distance m education But, if it is described as a brief, it can be told as an education type that can be implemented with education synchronous existence of teacher and student and also no place required. Whether distance education model is as effective as face-to-face education is a topic that most of educators discuss. The researches that compares distance education and traditional education shows us that, as long as required techniques are used in a correct and suitable way, the communication between students is provided and existence of a teacher that will evaluate and compensate the performance of a student. In this study, a distance education application is prepared with the aim of creation of an example of distance education. This prepared application sample is aimed for serving Selçuk University Faculty of Science and Letters Statistics Department's fundamental Statistics courses by using distance education method.
