In this study, the impact of different strength training programs applied over a 12-week period on post-training performance values in young individuals aged 18-20, and the subsequent effects of a 1-month detraining period, were examined. Thirty male participants, who were students at Selcuk University in Konya, volunteered for the study. After initial measurements, participants were randomly divided into three groups: a control group (CG), plyometric strength training group (PSTG), and resistance band strength training group (RBSTG). The mean ages of the participants were 18,70±0,67 years for CG, 18,70±0,67 years for PSTG, and 19,10±0,87 years for RBSTG. The height averages were 178,76±7,38 cm for CG, 176,90±5,64 cm for PSTG, and 174,70±6,12 cm for RBSTG. Body weight averages were as follows: CG pre-test 71,40±8,82 kg, post-test 73,00±9,34 kg, detraining test 74,00±9,15 kg; PSTG pre-test 69,00±6,58 kg, post-test 70,00±6,56 kg, detraining 70,60±6,56 kg; RBSTG pre-test 68,70±12,65 kg, post-test 69,30±11,55 kg, detraining test 69,50±11,28 kg. The training groups performed the designated 8 exercises, 10 repetitions, and 4 sets per session three times a week for 12 weeks. After the training period, final tests were conducted, followed by a detraining period. Detraining tests were performed after a 1-month detraining period, and statistical analyses were conducted. The results of the study were evaluated using the SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 26) package program. Mean and standard deviations of the data for all variables were calculated. To determine the differences within groups for measurements taken during the pre-test, post-test, and detraining test periods, the Repeated Measures Analysis of Variance test was applied. For determining the differences between groups for each period (pre-test, post-test, and detraining test), One-Way Analysis of Variance was used. To identify the source of the differences, the "Duncan" test from Post-hoc tests was applied. In the evaluation of statistical analyses, situations where P<0.05 were considered as significant. Supportive significance was found in measurements between training groups in the isokinetic strength test (P<0,05). Positive significance was observed in measurements between training groups in the Wingate anaerobic power test (P<0,05). In the aerobic power test, significance was observed in intragroup measurements for the plyometric training group (P<0,05). In the speed test, negative significance was found in the control group, while supportive significance was found in the training groups (P<0,05).Significance was observed in intragroup measurements for the reaction test in the training groups (P<0,05). In intergroup measurements, PSTG was found to be statistically significantly different after the final tests (P<0,05). Significance was found in intragroup measurements for the agility test in the training groups (P<0,05). In intergroup measurements, RBSTG was found to be statistically significantly different after the final tests (P<0,05). In conclusion, it was observed that both plyometric and resistance band strength training programs had positive effects on both muscular performance and general anaerobic and aerobic performance.
