Özet
Bu çalışma, ülkemizdeki ilköğretim okullarında okutulan müzik derslerinin işlevselliğinin ve öğrencilerin sınıf içi sosyal davranış ve gelişimlerine olan katkılarının yeterli olup olmadığının belirlenmesi; ayrıca alternatif müzikal etkinliklerin uygulanmasıyla bu seviyenin yükseltilebileceğine dair yeni fikir ve önerilerin oluşturulabilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla, Mersin ilindeki bir ilköğretim okulunun 7.sınıf öğrencilerinden seçilmiş deney ve kontrol gruplarına, müzik dersi bünyesinde müzikal ve sosyal beceri düzeylerini ölçmeye yönelik ön gözlem formu uygulanmıştır. Deney grubuna, müzik derslerinin bu anlamdaki fonksiyonlarını artırabileceği düşünülen 8 hafta süren alternatif etkinlikler uygulanmış, kontrol grubuna ise ilköğretim okulları müzik dersi müfredatına göre hazırlanmış olan program, müzik dersi bünyesinde verilmiştir. Eğitim sürecinin sonunda, her iki gruba da son gözlem formu uygulanmış ve elde edilen veriler, istatistiksel olarak yüzde (%) dağılımını ifade eden tablolarla gösterilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Ayrıca bu ölçekler doğal ortamlarda yapılandırılmış bir gözlem aracı olarak da kullanılmıştır. Değerlendirme sonunda; ilköğretim okulları müzik dersi müfredatına göre eğitim alan 7. sınıf kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin, alternatif etkinlikler uygulanan deney grubu öğrencilerine göre müzikal anlamda daha yetersiz olduğu, yine deney grubu öğrencilerine göre sınıf içi sosyal davranış ve beceri gelişimlerinin düşük olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu araştırma ile, ilköğretim okullarında verilmekte olan müzik dersi içeriğinin, öğrencilerin, sürece daha aktif dahil olabileceği etkinliklerle zenginleştirilmesi gerektiği; bu etkinliklerin öğrencilere kalıcı müziksel davranışlar kazandırırken, onların sınıf içi sosyal davranış ve gelişimlerine de büyük oranda katkı sağladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
This work has been prepared in order to determine the functionality of the music lessons in primary schools in our country and whether their contribution is enough or not to students? social behaviour and development in the classroom; also to form new ideas and offers concerning raising the level by implementing alternative musical activities. With this aim, an initial observation form was completed by the experiment and control groups that were chosen from the 7th grade students of a primary school, in order to measure their musical and social ability levels. Alternative activities were adopted, which were thought to enhance the music lessons functions and lasted for eight weeks for the experiment group; and the programme, which was prepared according to the primary schools? curriculum, was given to the control group in the structure of a music lesson. At the end of the education process, the last observation form was completed by both groups and the acquired information was indicated and interpreted into a table expressing its frequency (f) and percentage (%) distribution statistically. Also these measures were used as a means of observation which was formed in a natural environment. At the end of the evaluation, it has emerged that the 7th grade control group?s students who were being educated according to primary schools music lessons? curriculum, were more inadequate musically than the experiment group?s students, who adopted alternative activities, and again, their social behaviour and progress of their abilities were low when compared with the experiment group?s students. With this research, it was concluded that the content of music lessons given in primary schools should be enriched with activities which the students are involved in actively; these activities encourage students to acquire permanent musical behaviours, it also provides substantial contributions to their social behaviour and progress.
